Curriculum:
Berkeley City College / Course Update (2)
ENGL 1A – add “or” in between the ESL classes in the prerequisites section. TABLED until all other colleges bring forth proposal.
MATH 13 – TABLED. Laney still has reservations about adding Math 206 as a prerequisite. There are concerns about whether this will cause issues with C-IDs, transfer degrees and articulation. / Send approved proposals to the Board
Laney asked to come to a decision about Math 13 by May 2016 CIPD so that the December articulation deadline can be met. / A. ElMasry

Notes:
· EDT 7 – APPROVE with conditions. MC submitted correction to the effective term for EDT 7, which was approved at CIPD in December 2015. MC wanted to change to Summer 2016. A. ElMasry asked noted that Peralta was audited and short turnaround times such as this can lead to advertisement requirement violations. Unless in the printed schedule, colleges must create an advertise it, post it publicly, and retain advertisement for 3 years. M. Orkin noted that web posting is also an option, however, it was also noted that web postings are difficult to retain as evidence.

A. ElMasry, chairs and specialists will meet after CIPD meeting to discuss effective terms. Effective terms will be discussed at next CIPD meeting. Effective terms must be followed unless it is an urgent situation. These will be reviewed by CIPD on a case-by-case basis. / A. ElMasry
