“OPEN VOUCHER” SYSTEM
What is the system about?
The Open Voucher consists of a pre-paid bonus system at a specific price and receives a set of hotel vouchers/bonus that are exchanged for hotel nights and a rental car, at any of the participating hotels around Costa Rica. The kit includes for hotel vouchers and a rental car for the whole period.
The costumer selects from a 7 to 15 day program At the arrival passengers receive a list of the participating hotels and receive a set of hotel vouchers/bonus that are exchanged for hotel nights and a rental car, once decided where they want to stay, just need to call the hotel 24 hours in advance and verify availability. Upon arrival, present one voucher for each night of hotel room. The program is not valid in Easter Week.
What type of hotels can I choose in this type of system?
All participating hotels have been carefully selected by Festival Tour Operators and range from Lodges to 4 or 5 star hotels. All rooms assigned to this program are standard and hotels provide an excellent level of comfort and security.
Where are they located?
They are located all around the country. Selection ranges from remote Lodges in South Pacific, to 3-5 star hotels in San José and vicinity. There are participating hotels in the areas of mayor tourist importance.
What type of transportation is included?
The program includes category Daihatsu Bego 4 x 4 o Hyundai Tucson 4x4,, during the whole stay. Rental car is delivered the day after arrival to the country and must be returned upon departure. Free mileage is provided, however, insurance must be paid to the contractor directly.
What are the advantages of this type of system?
Travel on your own, do not depend on itineraries and manage your own time. Visit as many locations as you want for as long as you want, at your own pace. Just hand in a voucher for each extra night, and if there is space available, stay longer.
How can I book this?
The Wholesaler through Festival Tour Operators must book the first night and the car. Then, Festival Tour Operators will hand in the vouchers to the guest upon arrival at the airport with the rest of your information kit.
How many Open Voucher systems can I choose from?
There are two open voucher systems: the Open Voucher Premium and the Standard Open Voucher system. The PREMIUM includes a wider range of hotels, and that is why the final rate is also different.
What is given to the passengers?
The wholesaler must provide the traveler with just one general voucher with the number of nights clearly specified on it, as well as the car type and the type of the Open Voucher System (Premium or Standard). Festival Tour Operators will provide the passenger with the hotel vouchers locally as well as an information kit that includes a list of the hotels with addresses and telephone numbers of each hotel and a fully signal map.
What is the validity?
These rates are valid from February 15th to December 15th 2010, except if we specified. Not valid on Holy Week.

GENERAL POLICIES
The Open Voucher program is valid only from February 15th through December 15th 2010, except for the following hotels:
• Arenal Paraíso, Trapp Family Lodge y Fonda Vela valid until Nov 30 2010
• Punta Leona valid from May 1st to November 15th 2010
• Casitas Eclipse valid from May 1st 2010 to Jun 30 2010 and from September
1st to Dec 21 2010
• Hacienda Guachipelín valid from April 1st 2009 to Dec 15 2010
• La Quinta in Sarapiqui is valid until October 31 2009
• Monterrey del Mar hotel is NOT VALID DURING JULY 2010
• Arenal Springs hotel IS NOT VALID DURING JULY AND AUGUST 2010.
This program is not valid during Easter Week or Christmas Week or New Year.
All rates are net per person in us dollars.
Child rates will depend on each hotels regulation. At most of the hotels children stay free when sharing the room with his parents and no extra beds are required. Some hotels charge an extra $20 US p/night, p/child (average). This extra charge & breakfasts for the child must be paid directly to the hotel.
The first night and the car will be booked through Festival Tour Operators. Please specify type of Open Voucher System selected number of nights, car type, and number of adults and children.
Maximum 2 children under the age of 11 years old permitted when sharing a room with parents.
Our guest will receive one separate voucher for each night. If guest wants to extend the stay after using all the vouchers then the hotel will charge the client directly the applicable rate according to the season.
Our guest must book the hotels directly over the phone 24 hours before arriving to the hotel. The reservation must be made under the name of the person travelling and he must also mention and specify that he is travelling under the Festival Tour Operators Open Voucher Program and must present the voucher upon arrival. Hotels will not accept any reservations made more than 24 hours prior to arrival.
All rooms assigned under this program will be STANDARD ROOMS. The hotel reserves the right to decline a reservation if no space is available for standard rooms (although they might have space available for other type of rooms). Other types of rooms are non-applicable for this program.
Unused vouchers are non-refundable. Any services used partially are non-refundable.

- DOES NOT INCLUDE:
· Transfer from the International Airport to your San Jose Hotel (on your arrival) this service is $28.00 one way if you want to have it.
· Mandatory Insurance for the car (BEGO- TUCSON $18-20)
· Meals
· Personal Expenses & extras.
- IMPORTANT NOTES:
· Passenger must have an International Valid Credit Card. The Rental Car Company will block $750.00 & give it back the returning day if the car is in the same conditions as it was rented.
· There is an option of “full cover insurance”, for $ 10, 00 plus the mandatory one. Ej; a BEGO (or similar) is $ 18 (mandatory) + $ 10 full cover for a total of $ 28 per day.
· Packages of 7, 10, & 14 nights are the ones sell regularly. But we can offer you the Open Voucher system for the number of nights you need, with a minimum of 4 nights. Just ask…
