Weprovidea comprehensivearrayofservicesfor children,including:

•Our Head Start Prekindergarten and Early Head Start Programs, whichpreparelow-income children for a successful transition to kindergarten.

•Peninsula Children’s Learning Center, whichsupportsworking families with high-quality, affordable daycare for 250 children in North and Northeast Portland.

•After-school programming, which provides educational support, enrichment, and a safe place for children to be afterclasses at six Portland schools.

•Our Parenting Program, whichteaches parents (mostly recent immigrants) how to best support their children’s healthy development and school readiness.

•The ChildCare Improvement Project, whichprovides training to home-based childcare providers toimprovequality of care, focus efforts on education,andincreasetheamountofstableandaffordablecareavailableto low-incomefamilies.

OurStability and Opportunities ServicesProgramworks to prevent hunger and homelessness through ourEmergencyFoodBoxProgram, thelargestfoodpantryonPortland’swestside. It also providestransitionalhousingforhomelessfamilies, as well as resource and referralsupport for anyone living in poverty.

Our Aging Services Program provides case management and transportation assistance to seniors. We also operatea senior center in SW Portland, providing exercise classes, socialization opportunities, and planned outings to help seniorsliveself-sufficient lives.

Theagency’sbudgetfor2017–2018is$7.1million,20percentofwhichmustberaisedthroughprivatesupport.
