PART I: INFORMATIONAL REPORT (Required)

Division 17 Office/Chair Position: Early Career Professionals (ECP) Committee, Chair of the ECP Committee

INFORMATIONAL REPORT:

Goals:

·  Select three incoming committee members for the August 2016 year.

·  Collaborate with the Chair Trio (Drs. Dom Scalise and Valene Whittaker) to identify a Chair-Elect for 2016.

·  Schedule a social for the APA Annual Convention to encourage ECP membership and networking during Convention.

·  As a committee, submit symposiums related to ECP interest for the APA Annual Convention.

·  Collaborate with the SCP Award STG 2 to provide feedback on the ECP related SCP Awards.

·  Purchase award plaques for the three committee members rotating off the committee. Due to a small committee budget, current committee members donated funding for these plaques.

·  Administer and select the 2015 SCP ECP Travel Grant Awards.

·  Provide information about ECPs and ECP resources on the ECP Website, social media outlets and newsletter updates.

Activities so far:

·  Distributed the call for new committee members through e-mail listservs and social media outlets.

·  Organized the applications of new committee members and distributed them to the current committee for ratings and selection of new members.

·  The Chair Trio discussed the role of Chair-Elect and worked to identify a person to serve in this role for next year.

·  Collaborated with Dr. Marianne Dunn (ECP Treasurer) to identify a location for the ECP Social and we worked with Skylar Siminovsky to approve a contract for the venue.

·  Collaborated with committee members to raise funds for the ECP Social and other ECP related activities.

·  Reviewed the ECP Practice Award and sent feedback by e-mail to the SCP Award STG 2.

·  Dr. Samantha Daniel and the review committee administered and selected the SCP ECP Travel Grant winners. The winners are Drs. Hanako Suzuki and Kimberly Langrehr. Winners will be reimbursed $500 for travel expenses to the 2015 APA Convention.

·  Scheduled and hosted a committee conference call on February 26th, from 5-6 pm CST. Calls aid the committee in accomplishing our goals.

·  Dr. Tiffany O’Shaughnessy created newsletter updates about committee activities and ECP related topics for the SCP newsletter.

Planned activities:

·  Attend the annual APA Convention and host the ECP Social Hour on Friday, (8/7/2015) at Baton Rouge Restaurant.

·  Present programs on ECP related concerns during the APA Convention.

·  Attend the SCP Annual Business Meeting along with the Chair-Elect Dr. Valene Whittaker on (8/5/2015) from 4-10 pm.

·  Submit the Incoming Chair-Elect name (Dr. Tiffany O’Shaughnessy) for consideration and approval of the SCP Executive Board.

·  Schedule committee lunch meeting to celebrate the accomplishments of members rotating off and plan for the upcoming year.
