For this project, you and your team will be outlining, researching and presenting two island nations or small group of islands located in the Caribbean Sea. The instructions below will guide you on your journey:
Ø As a class, we will create a wall mural of a Resource Political Map. The wall map/mural will have a key indicating the regions’ natural resources and/or exports.
· For example, an oil rig is chosen as the symbol for oil resources. Anyone with oil as a resource then must draw a small oil rig on their 1 x 1-inch notecard section as their symbol that is indicated by the key
Ø On the 1x1 inch notecard sections, draw about 5 major exports and/or natural resources for your island(s). The number of 1x1 cards will depend on the size of your island(s)
Ø Outline your two island nations or group of islands on the wall mural. Each island(s) will include natural resources and exports for this Resource Political Map
Ø Include your island(s) name and its capital (either its national capital or territory capital if not an independent country). Color each island nation or group of islands using permanent markers
Ø Tape country and capital name and your resources “labels” around your island(s) in the general location where the natural resources or exports are located. If island is too small, use an arrow to indicate where on the island it is
