AMP: Year One Power Change/Errata

While some of the powers required a little bit of word change in order to clarify their usage, the below powers are ones that have had mechanical changes in the new revision. Any changes have been made to better the game balance and fun factor for players. Thank you to anyone who provided feedback and errata to aid with this revision. Read carefully.

Blaster Powers

Bolt

Homing Blast: It is now clarified that this Augment cannot be reduced lower than E1.

Illuminate: Cost for Light Blasters is E0, not T0.

Constructs

Energy Lifeform: Now ignores damage from the Energy Type of its creation.

Flux

Energy Travel: Noting that the check required is Moderate (20)

Vampire

Siphon Defense: Instead of just stealing 1 Juice, it now allows for a full activation with the chance of stealing multiple Juice from the attacker.

Bulk Powers

Acceleration

Core Ability: While Sprinting, the AMP now creates a full (Acceleration) penalty to attackers, instead of (Acceleration)/2

Rapid Strikes: Bonus raised to +3 (instead of +2)

Me First: Now correctly reflects that it is a Trick and not an Enhancement. Cost is T1, not E1.

Biomorph

Core Ability: The 1-for-1 exchange for Integrity to Juice only applies as a Primary power. If it is a Secondary or Tertiary power, the exchange is 2-for-1 instead. Also clarifying that this conversion is reflexive.

Evasion

Core Ability: Reaction bonus may now be activated reflexively.

Accurate: This cannot fall below E1 cost.

Invulnerability

Deflect: Now cannot be reduced lower than T2.

Elemental Powers

Air

Tornado: Added clarification on continuous Dodge checks.

Wind Soul: Explains how the AMP can interact with the world with Push Actions.

Earth

Chasm: The AMP who originated the disaster now receives a bonus to escape their own destruction.

Fire

Sense Fire: Now notes the check for viewing through the flame is Simple (10).

Phoenix from the Ashes: Cost cannot fall below T2.

Metal

EMP: added “The Recharge Trick (Bolt) can be used to negate this effect.”

Plants

Borne Fruit: Instead of creating (Plants) pieces of fruit, it now makes enough to feed (Plants) people.

Like a Rose: In addition to extra damage, they also now gain a (Plants)/2 bonus to Grab Actions.

Spore Breathe: Noting that the check required is Moderate (20)

Spore Cloud: Cost cannot fall below T2.

Water

Water Whip: Added Resistance: Dodge.

Water to Wine: Language change to clear up the effects. Can no longer change water to “whatever you want.”

Dehydration: Damage to living targets is now 2 damage (instead of 1)

Torrent: Added Resistance: Dodge.

Drown: The orb now ignore Fire Energy damage altogether for the purposes of damaging the orb or applying damage to the victim inside.

Tidal: Added a number of Strength checks needed to avoid being swept away by the wave.

Feral Powers

Leash

Sense Animals: Noting that the check required is Moderate (20) and extending Range to (Intuition + Leash)x20 ft. (instead of x10 ft).

Whistle: Noting that the check required is Moderate (20)

Stampede: No check required.

Killer Instinct

Core Ability: Marking one’s prey is now explicitly reflexively.

Venom

Core Ability: Noted that their immunity to poisons/drugs is against negative and positive effects alike.

Eat Up: Added “This damage cannot be negated with AR.”

Fangs: Added “This additional damage cannot be negated with AR.”

Poison Kiss: Added “…cannot be negated with AR”

Touch of Death: Added “This damage cannot be negated with AR.”

Mindbender Powers

Authority

Affect Sense: Cost cannot fall below E1.

Crowd Control: Cost cannot fall below E1.

Slave Mind: Cost cannot fall below E1.

Knockout: Bonus given to target’s during stressful situations or combat reduced to +4 (instead of +5).

Brainiac

Speed Reading: The AMP may now have up to (Brainiac)/2 bonuses from Speed Reading at any given time.

Heartstrings

Opposite Reaction: Check is now Heartstrings + Discipline.

Hardened: Check is now Heartstrings + Discipline.

Illusions

Core Ability: Removed the word “unmoving.” Now illusions can be as animated as fits the situation.

Imagine of Pain: Cost cannot fall below T2.

Imagination Land: Cost cannot fall below T2. Also added “Resistance: Core Ability”

Mnemonics

Erase Individual: Cannot be reduced lower than T2.

Erase Identity: Cannot be reduced lower than T3.

Telepathy

Mind Bolt: Cost raised to T2.

Psych Powers

Astral Projection

Core Ability: Noting that the check required is Simple (10).

Psychic Shield: Cost cannot fall below E1.

Everywhere at Once: Cost cannot fall below E1.

Possession: Cost cannot fall below T2.

Awareness

Sense Presence: Noting that the check required is Moderate (20).

Mediumship

Zombie: Cost cannot fall below T2.

Oneiromancy

Day Dream: Cost cannot fall below E1.

Muse: Noting that the check required is Moderate (20).

Nightmare: Noting that the check required is Moderate (20).

Dream Jump: Noting that the check required is Moderate (20).

Dreamscape: Cost cannot fall below T2.

Psychometry

Core Ability: Added “A particularly violent vision may require a Moderate (20) Psychometry + Fortitude check to resist suffering a -2 penalty to all checks from its physical manifestation.”

Instill Flashes: Added “Difficulty for this check depends on how personally attached they are to the vision left.”

Future Flashes: Noting that the check required is Moderate (20). Also, changed to cost T3 (instead of E3, which was incorrect) and added “Cost cannot fall below T2.”

Alter Flashes: Added “Difficulty for this check depends on how personally attached they are to the vision left.”

Visions

Core Ability: Noting that the check required is Moderate (20).

By the Moon: Cost cannot fall below E1.

Retrocog: Cost cannot fall below E1.

Shaper Powers

Blight

Sludge: Noting that the 1B damage dealt is once per Round.

Smog: Duration changed to (blight)/2 Rounds instead of Battle.

Transfer Sickness: Noting that the secondary resistance check required is Moderate (20). Also added “The target suffers a (Blight)/2 penalty to this check.”

Health Void: Cost cannot fall below T2.

Darkness

Puppets: Now gives (Darkness)/2 bonus when using with a Distract Action.

Shadow Messenger: Knowledge + Intuition check needed by recipients now noted as Moderate (20).

Shadow Form: Cost cannot fall below T2.

Healing

Healthier Then Ever: Cost cannot fall below E1.

Ranged Healing: Cost cannot fall below E1.

Luck

Core Ability: Clarified that their reroll ability is also reflexive.

Malfunction: Clarifying that the negative affects occur on a Natural 1-5, not just any result of 1-5.

Eye for an Eye: Noting that the check required is Moderate (20). Also added “Cost cannot fall below T2.”

Miracle: Cost cannot fall below T3.

Technopathy

Overload: Added “It cannot be repaired for (Technopathy) days.”

Repair: Added “Use of this Trick is the only way to counteract Overload.”

Faceless: Noting that the check required is Moderate (20).

Ghost in the Machine: Noting that the check required is Moderate (20).

Animation: Noting that the check required is Moderate (20). Also added “Cost cannot fall below T2.”

Transmutation

Anything I See: Cannot be reduced below E1 cost.

Wardrobe Change: Noting that the check required is Simple (10).

Shifter Powers

Duplication

Body Shield: Clarified that effects only take place with a successful Reaction check.

Object Duplication: Check is now “None”.

Intangibility

Core Ability: Clarified their ability to switch between intangible and solid as much as they want without having to spend additional Juice.

Knockout: Clarified the opposed Fortitude check is against the power activation check as well.

Invisibility

Unseen Warrior: Cannot be reduced below E2 cost.

Where’s My House?: Cannot be reduced below T2 cost.

Shapeshifting

Core Ability: Noting that the check required is Moderate (20).

Monstrous Form: Cost cannot fall below E1.

Tiny Form: Cost cannot fall below E1.

Abnormal Mimicry: Cost cannot fall below E1.

Sizing

Growing Punch: The AMP now receives a +2 bonus to their attack as well.

Traveler Powers

Barrier

Slowed Descent: Check changed to “Barrier + Speed”. Also, Noting that the check required is Moderate (20) for halving followup damage.

Platform: Check changed to “Barrier + Travel for flight maneuvers”

Stuck: Cannot be reduced below T2 cost. Also, Resistance changed to “Dodge” instead of “Dodge/Find Cover”.

Chronos

Delay: Language clarified to help with understanding how it is intended to work. “An universal Enhancement for any power, it is activated at the same time as another power or Augment’s and holds its effect for up to (Chronos) Rounds released only at the AMP’s whim (reflexively).”

Age Object: Added “A failed Moderate (20) check likewise adds or subtracts (Chronos)/2 years from their age.”

Blink: Added “A failed Moderate (20) check ages their body 6 - (Chronos) years.”

Time Field: Added “A failed Moderate (20) check ages their body ages 6 - (Chronos) years.”

Age Person: “A failed Moderate (20) check likewise adds or subtracts (Chronos)/2 years from their age. Cannot be reduced lower than T2.”

Return to Start: Added “A failed Moderate (20) check subtracts (Chronos)/2 years from their age. Cannot be reduced lower than T2.”

Freeze Time: Added “A failed Moderate (20) check ages their body 10 - (Chronos) years.” and “Cannot be reduced lower than T2.”

Portals

From Thin Air: Cost cannot fall below E1.

Permanent Door: Cost cannot fall below E1.

Summon Item: Target’s Size can now be up to (Portals)/2 (instead of just Size 2).

Telekinesis

Fling: Now deals 1 damage in addition to other effects.

Teleportation

Core Ability: Additional Clarification language added.

Flash Strike: Added “Does not enjoy a (Teleportation)/2 bonus.”

I’m Not There: Description altered to match similar powers like Missed Me and Were You Trying to Hit Me?
