Love books? Bring a friend and help Multnomah County Library put retired library materials back out into the community!

We are looking for volunteers – and friends of volunteers! – to help process, sort, price and shelve library materials to fill the store on the following dates and times:

Thursday, February 16th, 3 – 6 pm

Wednesday, February 29th, 3 – 6 pm

Saturday, March 10th, 9 am – 1 pm

What can you expect? Lifting, bending, stooping, reaching, carrying, and putting materials in order for sure. Not to worry though, coffee and snacks will be provided to power through the day!

The Title Wave Used Bookstore is located at (address here).

If you would like to sign up for a shift, please follow the instructions below.

-Access your MCL Volunteer Site by going to and clicking on Volunteer Site.

-Enter your user name and password. Your username is your full email address and your password is [[password]]

-Click on the My Schedule tab to see the Title Wave Used Bookstore Work Party openings.

-Click the box next to the opening to select.

-Click Yes to confirm your selection.

That's all there is to it! You will then be registered to attend the Title Wave Used Bookstore Work Party. If at any time you need to cancel, you can also do that by logging in to the Volunteer Site, and canceling by following the steps above.

If you plan on bringing a friend, please let us know so we can have plenty of snacks on hand.

Talk Time Recruitment:

Are you looking for an additional volunteer position with the library? Would you like to meet people from around the world? If so, read on to learn more about the Talk Time program at XXX Library!

Talk Time is a conversation circle designed to encourage non-native English speakers to meet together in a social setting, exchange information and experiences with people of other cultures, and practice speaking English.

Volunteer facilitators assist the group with conversation topics, manages the sign-in sheet, handouts, and other class-oriented admin tasks.

The Talk Time program at xxx Library takes place every Saturday from 3:30 – 5 pm and we ask for a minimum commitment of 6 months.

Knitting Mentor Recruitment

Do you have a knack for knitting and a desire to teach others? If you can k2tog, ssk, and yo like no other, this volunteer opportunity might be for you!

Gresham Library is looking for an experienced knitter or two to help with their new Knitting Group every Sunday from 2:30 – 4:30 pm. Gresham Library is located at 385 N.W. Miller Avenue in Gresham and would require travel to the library every Sunday.
