ROLE DESCRIPTION

Contacts: / Resource Planners, Witness Care Officers, Operational Officers ,CJ Partnership Agencies
Role: / To contribute to the effective running of the Witness Care Unit by facilitating the warning of officers to attend court and providing administrative assistance to WCOs and Team Leader.
Duties / Responsibilities
Warning of officers to attend court via Live Link / To use WMS IT system to retrieve LWACS in matters where officers are required to give evidence at court
To interrogate force intranet and identify officers’ base and subsequently identify the most appropriate Live Link venue for each officer required to give evidence
To determine availability of appropriate Live Links venue
To warn officers and inform Resource Planners of court warnings
To manage a caseload of “officer only” cases on WMS including court warnings and housekeeping tasks
To assist WCU Team Leader with administrative tasks including but not limited to Daily, Warned and Firm Lists
To assist Witness Care Officers with administrative tasks including but not limited to producing resulting letters from WMS.
To assist, when appropriate, with last minute court dewarnings
General / Provide general administrative support to the Witness Care Unit
To have an awareness of the Data Protection Act and Force Information Security Policy.
Undertake such duties commensurate with the post may be required for the safe and effective performance of the job.
This role definition should develop along with changing demands of policing reflected in Force objectives and priorities.
