LAS September 2010 Headlines:

There are no Headlines for September 2010.

Instead we will give you details of the upcoming 2010 Loveland Stone Age Fair.

The Loveland Stone Age Fair will take place Saturday and Sunday, September 25th and 26th, 2010, at the Pulliam Community Building in Loveland, Colorado. Times will be from 9:00 am until 7:00 pm Saturday, and from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm on Sunday. This year marks the 70th anniversary of the Stone Age Fair in Loveland. We have over 30 exhibitors and more than 50 tables of exhibits confirmed so far.

University of Colorado, Boulder

We will also have demonstrations in the exhibitor hall on Saturday and Sunday, September 25th and 26th:

Don and Vicki Seamans Artifact Authentication Demonstrations

Dr. Jason LaBelle and anthropology students from Colorado State University (CSU) will have a table set up to help Stone Age Fair visitors with identification and documentation of paleo artifacts found in Larimer County. If you have paleo period artifacts, or think you may have paleo artifacts from Larimer County, please bring them for identification and documentation. This is strictly a courtesy and you can disclose as much or as little as you wish about your finds. CSU is simply trying to add to their paleo research database.

As always, the Stone Age Fair is free to the public, so invite your friends to come out and enjoy two great days featuring displays of prehistoric artifacts which can’t be seen anywhere else! Stay informed on planning and events by visiting the Loveland Archaeological Society website at http://stoneagefair.com.

One last note—handicap access is extremely limited in the Pulliam Community Building. There is a wheelchair elevator at the front of the building to access the auditorium upstairs, but there is no access to the exhibitor hall downstairs.

See you there!

LAS Find of the Month, September 2010:
