You should have the utilities transferred into your name within 24 hours of taking possession of your home.
Remember it is a violation of your lease agreement to have your utilities disconnected before your lease end-date and indicates the home is abandoned. This is because the utility companies charge hefty fees to reconnect. Keeping management informed of any changes to your utilities will protect you from ever having a problem. Thanks
