Gambling Helpline Services

The Gambling Helpline provides the following services:-

For gamblers and significant others:

Gambling problem brief and ongoing motivational support

Gambling problem crisis intervention

Gambling debt programmes

Referrals to face-to-face counselling agencies

Regular callbacks for ongoing support

An integrated care programme

For gamblers, significant others and general public interest:

General gambling problem information including self-help tools

Statistical analysis of clients profiles and demographics

The motivational support, referral and information services are provided through:

The Gambling Helpline also provide:

Two websites with information and self-assessment guides: gamblinghelpline.co.nz and inyaface.co.nz (youth) A talking point forum for self help and peer motivation (can be found at the main website)

A number of self-help resources aimed at people with gambling problems and also at their family/whanau (significant others) Access through a text number 8006

This report represents a numerical analysis of Gambling Helpline clients where an update has been made to the Gambling Helpline database (Includes the main helpline and specialist services, phone and email. Text contacts are excluded from this report unless a client has provided their address for an information pack or the client has subsequently phoned the helpline)

Website visits analysis is based on the results reported in automated tracking software
