International Fraternity Officer Job Description

Position:COLLEGIATE REGIONAL DIRECTOR

Position Overview / The Regional Director provides direction and leadership toward the development and maintenance of successful, productive collegiate chapters within a defined region. She leads a team of Collegiate Regional Specialists to assess chapter condition, set region goals and objectives, and creates action plans to achieve them. Working with regional and other officers, she oversees the delivery of general chapter support and directs collegiate operations of the entire region. She bears accountability for the health and welfare of chapters in the region and the quality of the collegiate experience they provide.
Key Responsibilities / Facilitates a process with Collegiate Regional Specialists to assess chapter condition, analyze regional needs and set annual goals and objectives for the region
Leads the development and execution of action plans to achieve objectives
Directs collegiate operations of entire region
Advises Grand Vice President Collegians (GVPC) on regional issues and gives input to the development of annual goals and objectives for the Fraternity’s collegiate member segment
Routinely and carefully reviews chapter visit reports to identify areas of concern; acts proactively to resolve concerns identified
Trains, supervises, coaches, evaluates and develops Collegiate Regional Specialists within region; builds a cohesive and high-performing regional leadership team
Carries out duties of Collegiate Regional Specialist, if necessary
Encourages the identification and sharing of best practices and lessons learned across regions
Conducts chapter visits as needed
Maintains frequent contact with Collegiate Regional Specialists, Chapter Support Officers, Grand Council, Headquarters staff and Leadership Development Consultants. Maintains contact with Alumnae Advisory Committees and chapters as necessary
Completes routine reporting requirements (e.g., annual report, quarterly reports to Grand Council, chapter visit reports and follow-up letters, etc.) and other communications (email, letters) as needed/directed
Selects winners of Fraternity awards as requested
Develops and delivers presentations as needed.
Attends campus and Panhellenic meetings as requested
For Collegiate Region NineTeam Members: Regular communication and interaction will specifically involve the Resident Leadership Development Consultant(s) and Assistant Director of Extension. These team members may be asked to travel to colonization and installation events. Some job responsibilities may not begin until the chapter has been installed. The duties and tasks involved in the coordination of colonization and installation activities will not fall to this regional team, but members of the regional team may be asked to sit on the teams for those events.
Reporting Relationships / Reports to the Grand Vice President Collegians
The Collegiate Regional Specialists report to the Collegiate Regional Director:
Travel / Biennial convention: 6 days
Biennial Officers Workshop: 4 days, non-convention year
Biennial College Weekend: may send a Specialist in your place for a total of two regional officers per region
Chapter installations for region: Varies, 3 days each
Directors’ Meeting: 3 days on convention year
FDS Signature Events within the region: hotel and meals will be covered by the Fraternity, travel will be paid by the individual or regional team pending ARD/CRD approval
Collegiate Regional Specialist training
Regional training meetings: 3 days
Other meetings/leadership opportunities/chapter visits as needed
Panhellenic/campus meetings: 1–2 days, as requested
Time Commitment / 25–30 hours per week
Daily check of email

Qualifications
Knowledge / Experience / Experience as a Fraternity Director, Collegiate Regional Specialist or other experience above the local level
Broad Fraternity knowledge and perspective, with particular understanding of the collegiate member segment
