New this year- Open auditions will be held at two locations, Haddam Killingworth High School and Westbrook High School for the southern shoreline high schools. Both auditions will take place on Tuesday November 24th from 2:30 to 4:00. The Auditions will be videotaped and reviewed by a panel of student and faculty judges. The footage may be used during the holiday show telethon therefore students will need to sign the enclosed release form (if they are under 18 it will need a parent signature) No student will be allowed to audition without the signed release form.10-12 finalists will be selected to perform live on the Holiday Show telethon aired on Comcast channel 18 and simulcast on the world wide web at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/vsen18 Check the Shoreline’s Got Talent Website for updates: http://www.rsd17.org/hkhs/hktv.shtml

Step Two: The Holiday Show December 23rd 8am-12pm

Once selected, the contestants will perform live on Comcast Channel 25. Prior to the show, each contestant will be videotaped in order to make a short video profile / biography which will be broadcast throughout the telethon.. Contestants will be judged by the viewers of the telethon- In order to vote, viewers must make a dollar pledge in the name of their favorite contestant. This all takes place “in real time” and so schools and communities will be watching live performances and be able to vote. In addition, the program will be rebroadcast until January 2nd which is when the voting will close.

Step Three: The Benefit Concert January 8th, 2010, at 3:00 to rehearse for a concert

that starts at 7pm that evening.

The final culmination will be an evening concert featuring the 10 finalists in which they will perform once again. The winner of the telethon will be announced at the end of the evening. Admission is one canned item to be donated to the Shoreline Food Pantry.
