St Aidan’s requires a Data Officer to assist and work under the direction of the Data Manager. Ideally, you will have good administrative skills, computer literacy and be highly efficient and organised.
Job Description
- Import and export data from external systems (eg online)
- Prepare data for initial import and setup of external systems
- Export of data from external systems and preparation/processing
- Requirements planning and organisation of external systems
- Data processing (eg. using Excel)
- Ensuring the integrity of data processing mechanisms
- Preparing data ready for processing
- Performing calculations and analyses of data
- Filtering required data, exporting and collating related data
- Re-purposing of data
- Preparing data for presentation/reporting for a variety of purposes
- Transferring data between systems, including editing and aliasing data
- Collating data from various systems according to user requirements
- Overview of existing data structures (what is where?)
- Maintenance of SIMS reporting and assessment structures

- Good communication skills with whole-school staff
- Knowledge of good working practice with regard to Information Security
- Attention to detail and maintenance of data integrity
- Scheduling experience, ability to organise deadlines etc
- Maintain efficient records and keep line managers informed
- Ability to use online systems with good effect
- Managing secure passwords
- Records of system requirements and support
