Recovery Worker – Carmarthenshire Bespoke Repatriation Project March 2018

The Service

Bespoke Repatriation Project

Gofal, in collaboration with HywelDda Health board is establishing an innovative and ground breaking pilot project located in Carmarthen. The bespoke repatriation project will be supporting six women to live independently in their own homes as an alternative to in-patient and high level residential care.

The health board’s community mental health and inpatient provision has historically faced difficulty in meeting the needs of those identified as having borderline personality disorder. This has often resulted in the use of expensive out of county placements in locations remote from people’s local community. The service will support 6 women with this profile. The repatriation project will add significant resource to supplement the capacity of community mental health services. The project will deliver a service integrated with existing mental health services to deliver

  • Intensive seven day per week support.
  • Night time on-call
  • Person centred Care and Treatment Plans
  • Psychologically informed interventions
  • Integration with CPN, OT and Psychological interventions and other professionals
  • Step-down from Hospital Settings
  • Prevention of Crisis and Hospital Admissions

Key aims of the service will be the delivery of compassionate, person centred and recovery focussed support affording people the opportunity to live independently in their local community.

What will the work involve?

We are looking for flexible individuals with experience of work in mental health and supporting those with complex presenting need inclusive of borderline personality disorder. The project will be providing support Mon-Sunday 9am – 10pm, with provision of an on-call service out of these hours. Staff will be expected to cover this service on a rota basis with an on-call allowance payable over and above basic salary.

The project offers an exciting opportunity to develop and enhance your experience in the field of mental health and the unique opportunity to deliver a service fully aligned and integrated with CMHT provision.

Successful candidates will be provided with an intensive induction and specialist training in work with the client group as well as joint training with NHS staff.

Should you wish to discuss the project please contact Morag Firth, Head of Services West on 01656 647722
