  1. Old Business

a)Miscellaneous follow up issues AKA “Ask Carol”:

i) Hold/Recall Error Message Help page text

Carol is working on it and will send it out.

ii) Electronic format Call Number:

Arthur is still working on it.

iii) EndNote Citations

Still waiting for a fix from Ex Libris

iv) Linking items in “My Account” to Voyager record

Still working on it. Enumerations in My Account is fixed. Patch is available now but Systems is looking at the first week of January at the earliest for patch installation. Request to link to bib record is still not fixed.

v) Courtesy Notice Wording

Betsy sent instructions to WebVoyagers.

vi) Basic Search Quick Limit

Carol K. changed it in the sandbox and sent the link to everyone. HCC wants the change now. Sites should let Carol K. know if they want it changed now.

b) Patron password for accessing My Account in WebVoyage.

Login screen has new wording: “All UH students, faculty & staff: Click here”.

c) Revision of Help pages

Basic Search in sandbox. Stu sent the text to Carol. Carol will put in different format from html. Everyone should take a look at it.

d) Identifying Netlibrary titles in UH Catalog

Michelle Sturges (chair of SCCC) will work on the issue with SCCC.

e) Hold or transfer this item page

i) Any Copy At

Thanks to Fred for this full explanation: “I said that I didn't complete the configuration for the "Any Copy At:" option, which is different from the "Any Copy" option in that the former lets you select a specific library where you want the copy to come from. The problem with this option however is that you must also pickup the item at that library (with no configuration option available to pickup the item at another library). Partially as a result the circulation committee decided not to include this with the final implementation of patron placed holds last summer. Oddly enough though this option appeared again in 7.2.2, probably due to some WebVoyage configuration file setting being reset to the default. Since the WebVoyage committee agreed to go ahead and remove this, Carol will turn off this option again in the holds request form of everyone's WebVoyage skin.”

ii) This Copy: drop down order of locations

Order is by system-generated ID numbers. When items are added, the most recent show up last. Cannot change the order but an enhancements request will be submitted.

  1. New Business

a)Problems with “printing all” in Voyager

“Print All” from results list not working. Lee Adams suggested a workaround: Print from last page and it will print all pages. Ex Libris is working on it.

b)Shutdown of ISLs and patron-placed hold services during administrative leave period in December.

Thanks to Fred for providing the fuller explanation below:

November 24th: Turn off ISL requests for UH Hilo items. Also turn off ISL requests for their patron groups for items at all UH libraries.
December 3rd (Friday) OR December 6th (Monday): Turn off all ISLs for AV and book requests. This will give 2 weeks for the current ISL requests to be processed and sent (this is different from last year when we turned off all patron placed holds at around this time). This will be done in the circulation matrix of each library by turning off holds for borrower types from outside their campus. On shelf holds for patron groups at that campus's library will still be allowed.
December 10th (Friday) OR December 13th (Monday): Turn off patron placed holds and recalls even for patron groups at that library's campus, except for Sinclair Library AV materials. This will be done in the circulation matrix of each library by turning off holds for borrower types from their campus. This will give one week for all the on shelf holds at a library to be processed.
December 16th (Thursday): Turn off ISL article request forms. This will give one day for all ISL article requests to be processed and sent out.
December 17th 3:00 pm (Friday): Turn off callslips for the Hawaiian/Pacific Collection and SRC. Turn off patron placed holds for Sinclair AV materials. This will be done from the "Patron" tab of the WebVoyage Circulation Policy group in the Voyager Systems Administration module. Like last year, I will ask Carol Kellett to turn off the "Get This Item" link in WebVoyage from December 17 through the morning of January 3rd.
January 3rd - Turn on all ISLs and patron placed holds, recalls and callslip requests. Reenable the "Get This Item" link in WebVoyage.

  1. Other Business

a)Susan’s email: She got a message on WebVoyage that said “No items available for this request” on an ISL request for a folio item. Betsy said most folios circulate. Someone suggested that the reason could be the library was getting things for their ownneeds on campus and did not want them to leave the campus. If it was only available to Maui students, Carol suggested that Betsy create a “New Books” location (for Maui students only).

b)Susan’s email: Items from Kaua‘i

Since Kaua‘i is undergoing renovation, she requests that Systems temporarily change Kaua‘i’s location name to say “ temporarily unavailable”. Carol will talk to Diane Johnson about it.

c)Request for a “Go to Page #” link

Sean stated that the results list of items or subject headings can have multiple pages. He would like to be able to go to a specific page instead of clicking through each page. Would a “Go to page #” link be possible? Steph indicated it was not possible but would be a good enhancement request.

d)Location limit for items available after 5:00pm at Hamilton Library

Sean stated that when someone needs a book from the Hawai‘i-Pacific collection, it is not available after 5:00pm. Is it possible to create a location limit and pull out items from only those locations where items are available after 5:00pm? This is for Hamilton Library only. It was suggested that he should talk to Stu or Susan.

  1. Next Meeting: January 26, 2011, place TBD.
