Fatigue occurs when ATP production fails to keep pace with ATP use even though the muscle still receives stimuli.

The sarcoplasmic reticulum is a reservoir for calcium ions in the cell's normal resting state. The T tubule is a fold in the cell membrane between the sarcoplasmic reticuli.
