INTER-STATE AUTO LIFTER GANG SMASHED : 5 MEMBERS ARRESTED : 18 STOLEN VEHICLES RECOVERED.

INTRODUCTION

The South District Police has arrested 5 members of Inter-State auto lifters namely I) Lokesh Malik, aged 25 years S/o Surender Pal Malik r/o Wazirabad, Delhi, ii) Sominder Dhankar, aged 25 years, r/o PS Babu Garch Chhawani, Ghaziabad, U.P., iii) Anil Kumar, aged 20 years, S/o Gulab Singh, r/o Sector 35, Faridabad, Haryana, iv) Anand Kumar @ Gullu, aged 28 years S/o Hari Kishan r/o Dasana, Ghaziabad, U.P. and v) Ashok Kumar, aged 19 years S/o Subh Narain Yadav, r/o Muzaffarpur, Bihar. The Police team also recovered 18 vehicles including 16 cars ( 9 Indica cars, 3 Maruti Alto Cars, 2 Maruti Esteem, 1 Mahindera Bolero, 1 Tavera and 2 Motorcycles including Bajaj Discover and Hero Honda Splender), mechanical instruments, fake papers and rubber stamps from their possession.

INCIDENT & TEAM :

Keeping in view of the increasing incidents of auto lifting in the area of Kalkaji and its surroundings, the Police team of PS Kalkaji was asked to look into the growing incidents of auto lifting and nab the criminals behind such incidents. The Police team of PS Kalkaji comprising of SI Ashish S. Dalal, HC Subhash, Cts. Satbir Bhati, Raj Kumar, Ram Kishan and Sanjay led by Inspr. Joginder Singh, SHO/Kalkaji under the close supervision of Sh. V.P. Singh, ACP/Kalkaji, developed information and deployed sources to nab the auto lifters, active in the area. During the process the police team received a secret information on 11.12.07 at about 11.05 p.m., that the gang of auto lifters would visit in the area of Kalkaji with stolen vehicles with the intention to lift some vehicles from the area after the midnight. The Police team laid a trap on the main road, Kalkaji, near Deshbandhu College. The Police team noticed a Indica car coming from Nehru Place side. On the instance of informer the car was signaled to stop, but instead of slowing down the speed, the driver of the car tried to accelerate the speed, to escape from the spot. But the alert Police team, giving him no chance, apprehended the Indica car, in which two persons were sitting. On asking about the ownership papers of the car, they were unable to produce it, hence they were interrogated on the spot and they disclosed that the car is stolen from the area of Mehrauli. They also disclosed their names as Lokesh Malik and Somender Dhankar. Accordingly they were arrest for auto lifting with the stolen Indica car No. DL-3CW-9164.

INTERROGATION & MODUS OPEANDI

During the course of interrogation it is revealed by the arrested accused persons that they are stealing the vehicles for quite long time. Somender Dhankar was arrested by the PS Babu Gargh Chhawani, Ghaziabad, whereas Lokesh Malik was arrested by the Police of PS Majesar, Faridabad. Both were arrest in auto lifting crime. When Lokesh Malik was in Bhondsi Jail, Gurgaon, there he met with another auto lifer named Anil Kumar, who was also arrested by the Police of Majesar, Faridabad in the crime of auto lifting. There Anil and Lokesh planned to form their own gang in the organized manner and decided to commit auto lifting in a large scale. After their release from jail they formed their gang including Ashok Kumar and Anand Kumar @ Golu. Anand Kumar @ Golu is the receiver of stolen vehicles and thereafter sells the vehicles in different parts of NCR and Allahabad, Kanpur, Siliguri and Nepal. They further disclosed that they have so far stolen more than 50 vehicles from the different parts of Delhi and NCR. On the instance of Lokesh Malik, the Police team arrested Anand Kumar @ Golu, Anil and Ashok. The Police team also recovered 15 cars and two motorcycles on their instance, which they have kept in vacant plots in the area of Faridabad and busy parking lots at various Railway Stations and Bus Stands, Markets etc. They used to supply the vehicles on the demand of receivers of the stolen vehicles. They used to sell the each stolen vehicle between Rs. 25,000/- to 50,000/-

MODUS OPRANDI

The members of the gang used to conduct a reccee of the targeted areas like uncovered colonies, temples and busy markets in the area of Delhi and NCR, to identify their vehicle of choice. Finding opportunity they sped away with the vehicles, mostly in the night. After stealing the vehicles they used to park the stolen vehicles at vacant plots and different parking lots.

PROFILE

Lokesh Malik is the gang leader of this gang, who is a notorious auto lifter and have many involvements at his credit. Somender Dhankar is also an active member of the gang. He is found to arrested by Ghaziabad Police, in which he had robbed a motorcycle. Accuse Anil Kumar is also found arrested by CIA staff of Faridabad Police. Anand Kumar @ Golu is a budding criminal, who had recently joined this gang. He used to receive the stolen vehicles and there after used to sell these vehicles in different parts of the NCR, Allahabad, Kanpur and Siliguri. All the members of this gang are so desperate that they never hesitate to assault the victims, if noticed and obstructed by anybody.

Desperate criminal convicted of rape and murder held.

He was sentenced to death by hanging before he fled from police custody in UP.

The Crime Branch, Delhi Police has arrested a desperate criminal who had been convicted of committing rape and murder of a minor girl in Uttar Pradesh. He had been sentenced to death by hanging by the trial court. He escaped from police custody by jumping down from a moving train last month. He has been found involved in numerous other criminal cases as well. His name is:-

Raja Ram Kushwaha @ Raju Kachhi (24) s/o Mukundi Kachhi r/o Village Thurat, PS Ajnar, Tehsil Kulphar, Distt. Mahoba, UP.

Today i.e. 17.12.2007 SI. Shivraj of Interstate Cell Crime Branch Chanakyapuri Delhi developed information that Raja Ram Kushwaha would be coming to the Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station. A team was quickly constituted led by Insp. K G Tyagi including SI Shiv Raj, SI Sanjeev, SI Mukesh, SI Ramavtar, ASI Jai Singh, ASI Rajbir, HC Omender, HC Shiv Kumar, HC Rajeev, HC Narender Dabas, Ct. U.N. Pandey, Ct Rambir, Ct Neeraj, Ct Ravinder.

At about 11:30 am the team spotted Raja Ram Kushwaha near the entry gate of Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station, Delhi. He was apprehended at the spot.

On sustained interrogation Raja Ram Kushwaha admitted to the fact that he had committed rape and murder of a minor girl and had been convicted with death penalty by the trial court. He further disclosed that he had also been convicted in a culpable homicide case by rigorous imprisonment of 8 years and a fine of Rs. 5000/-. On 23.11.2007 he had escaped from police custody at the Manikpur railway Station, Uttar Pradesh. The brief facts of his criminal involvement are given below:-

Rape and murder case

In 2004 he was living in his village Thurat, PS Ajnar, Tehsil Kulphar, Distt. Mahoba, UP. He kidnapped Jyoti (name changed) aged 10 years r/o Vill. Ghutai, PS Mahukant, Distt. Mahoba, UP. He took her to the sugarcane fields on the pretext of giving her sugarcane and killed her after raping her. A Case vide, FIR No. 480/04 dt. 26/11/04 u/s 363/376/302 IPC PS Mahukant, Mahoba was registered for the same. He was arrested in the case subsequently and wasconvicted with Death Penalty by order of Court of Sessions Ist Mohaba vide ST No. 2605 on 31/1/2006.

Culpable homicide case

He was involved in another case vide FIR No. 183/01 dt. 7/9/01 u/s 308/323/504/304 IPC u/s 308/304 IPC PS Ajnar, Mahoba in which he was convicted by ASJ-II, Mahoba on 8/5/07 with 8 years of rigorous imprisonment and fine of Rs. 5,000/-. His father Mikundi and two others are co accused in this case. They had assaulted one Narender Singh s/o Pehelwan Singh Thakur r/o Vill. Thurat PS Ajnar, Distt. Mahoba.

Escape from police custody

Raja Ram Kushwaha was lodged in the Naini Jail, Allahabad UP. On 22.11.2007 he left Naini Jail with a police escort for Distt. Court Mahoba, UP. After he had been produced in the Court he was being escorted back to Naini Jail. On 23.11.2007 at Manikpur Railway Station Raja Ram Kushwaha jumped down from the moving train and escaped from police custody along with his handcuffs. A case, vide FIR No. 63/07 dt. 6/12/2007 u/s 222/223/224 IPC PS GRP Manikpur, Mahoba was registered for the same and police escort (2 policemen) were sent to judicial custody by the authorities. This case was found pending investigation.

After escaping from police custody Raja Ram Kushwaha came to Delhi. His mother Ramkali had left her husband some 20 years ago. She lives with her sister at Quarter No. 9, Kirbi Place, Dhobi Ghat, Delhi. Her sister’s husband Murlidhar is presently posted at 61 Cavelary Lane, Gopinath Bazar, Delhi. He is posted as a Naik in 61 Cavelary and looks after the stable of the army at Delhi Cantt.

Raja Ram sought help from his mother but she refused to keep him. He was on is way back to Uttar Pradesh when he was nabbed by the Delhi Police Crime Branch.

The Uttar Pradesh Police has been informed accordingly. Raja Ram shall be produced in Patiala House Court today. His antecedents are still being ascertained.

GANG OF DESPERATE ROBBERS BUSTED BY THE CRIME BRANCH.

THREE MEMBERS OF THE GANG ARRESTED AFTER AN ENCOUNTER WITH THE CRIME BRANCH TEAM.

ONE GOOD QUALITY PISTOL, THREE LIVE CARTRIDGES, ONE FIRE CARTRIDGE, ONE IRON ROD, ONE BUTCHER KNIFE, ONE ROPE AND ONE TAPE RECOVERED.

The Crime Branch has busted a gang of desperate robbers and arrested three members of the gang after an encounter. One good quality pistol and three live cartridges, one fired cartridge, one butcher knife, One Iron Rod, One rope and one tape have been recovered from their possession. The name and address details of the arrested accused persons are as under:

  1. Aftab Alam S/o Nisar Ahmed R/o Vill. Mehnaul Kalan, PS Sunbasa Matiaria, Dist. Baitiya (West Champaran), Bihar. (age-32 years)
  2. Zakir Sai S/o Hafizullha Sai R/o Vill. Mehnaul Kalan, PS Sunbasa Matiaria, Dist. Baitiya (West Champaran), Bihar. (age-35 years)
  3. Sattar S/o Khalil R/o Vill. Mehnaul Kalan, PS Sunbasa Matiaria, Dist. Baitiya (West Champaran), Bihar. (age-35 years)

HC Azad Singh No. 322/DRP of AATS Crime Branch had some clues regarding the activities and movements of a gang of desperate robbers active in South Delhi. The information was further developed and after diligent field work, on 15.12.2007 at about 8:00 PM, a secret information was received that the accused persons would come to the DLF Farm House, Mehrauli, Delhi and may possess deadly weapons. On this, a team under the close supervision of ACP/AATS and Insp. Rajbir Sharma was constituted comprising of SI Ashok Kumar, HC Bhim Singh, HC Azad Singh, HC Amar Chand, HC Hakikat Rai, Ct. Sat Pal and Ct. Rajesh. The team immediately reached DLF Farm House and took strategic position around the expected place of their arrival. At about 10:00 PM, three well-built stout young men were spotted to be coming from Chattar Pur Village and Satbari Village side. Soon, they got suspicious and started moving ahead briskly. On the tip off, the raiding team spontaneously surrounded the desperados. On this one of them whipped out their pistol and open a fire on the Crime Branch team with a pistol. But the alert and vigilant team members overpowered them in a bloodless smooth operation and snatched their deadly weapons. Later, the one good quality pistol, three live cartridges, one fired cartridge, one butcher knife, one iron rod, tape and roap were seized and a case vide FIR No. 873/07 u/s 186/353/307/34 IPC r/w 25/27 Arms Act was registered at PS Mehrauli against the accused persons.

The accused persons were subjected to sustained interrogation by the Crime Branch team. During the course of interrogation, it was revealed that the accused persons are from the Bihar and they had came to Delhi from Baitiya, Bihar to commit robbery.

These are hardcore and desperate criminals who did not hesitate to even fire on the police team.

The Pistol recovered from the possession of the accused person, was brought by one Mubarak of Bihar. The accused are being produced before the Hon’ble Court at Patiala House Courts. Further investigation in the case is on progress.
