POSITIONING YOURSELF FOR VICTORY

Many people suffer avoidable defeats in life because they do not know how to position themselves for victory. The hundred metres runner that wears a flowing garment and a pair of high-heeled shoes has already positioned himself for failure. A man who has holiness as his goal but makes the house of a harlot his abode has already positioned himself for a fall from grace.

We can create the structures that makes victory to freely flow into our lives. We can so orient our lives in such a way that it positions us for victory and dominion. Position yourself for victory and enjoy the benefits of calvary on a continual basis.

HERITAGE OF THE SAINTS

Psalm 34:15,17,19; 145:18,19; 103:3; Isaiah 54:14-17; Matthew 15:26; Mark 2:5,11; 3 John 2; 1 John 3:22.

Victory and deliverance are the heritage of the saints. God has only promised to deliver the righteous from all his troubles (Psalm 34:15,17,19; 145:18,19; Isaiah 54:14-17). Healing is the children’s bread and not a family right for the lost (John 9:31; Matthew 15:26). In God’s scheme of things, forgiveness of sins always precedes healing and victory over the works of the devil (Psalm 103:3; Mark 2:5,11).

The quickest and easiest way to position oneself for victory is to be born again – repentance from sin and faith towards our Lord Jesus Christ that results in a transformed, new life (Mark 1:15; Matthew 3:8; Isaiah 55:6,7; 2 Corinthians 5:17).

HUMILITY AND SUBMISSION

1 Peter 5:5,6; Proverbs 16:18; 15:33; 22:4; 29:23; James 4:6,7,10; Philippians 2:5-11; 2 Corinthians 10:6.

Pride is always the road to destruction and ruin (Proverbs 29:23; 16:18; 11:2; 13:10). The fall of the devil is the result of pride (Isaiah 14:13-14) and pride always goes before a fall and defeat (Proverbs 16:18).

Humility always leads to honour, exaltation and victory (1 Peter 5:6; Proverbs 15:33; 22:4; 29:23; James 4:6,10). Humility led to Christ’s victory over sin, death, the devil and made God to exalt Him and to give Him a name that is above every name (Philippians 2:5-11).

Submitting ourselves to God gives us the privilege of resisting the devil so that victory can be ours (James 4:6,7). God can only grant us victory when our own obedience is complete (2 Corinthians 10:6).

Submitting to God means yielding to the authority and will of God. Wherever you fail to submit to God and you follow your own self-will, this is rebellion and sin (1 Samuel 15:23; Luke 2:50-52; Matthew 3:13-15; Hebrews 13:17; Ephesians 5:22-24).

HOLINESS AND SUPPLICATION

1 John 5:18; Job 1:8-10; Ephesians 6:12-18; Matthew 16:19; 18:18,19; 17:20,21; Mark 11:22-24; James 5:14-16.

Holiness is a protective hedge from the devastating activities of the devil (1 John 5:18; Job 1:8-10). Any form of filthiness can lay us open to the manipulations and resistance of the devil (Zechariah 3:1-5). Holiness makes God to back us up and fight for us giving us the victory.

Prayer is a mighty weapon in spiritual warfare. It is what makes the whole armour of God to work effectively (Ephesians 6:12-18). With it we bind and loose with definite results (Matthew 16:19; 18:18,19). With it we shift mountains from their established bases (Matthew 17:20,21; Mark 11:22-24).

HEARING AND SOBERNESS

2 Samuel 5:17-25; John 10:27; Psalm 23:4; 1 Corinthians 10:13; Isaiah 30:21; 1 Peter 5:8; Matthew 13:24-28.

When we pray like David, there will always be direction that will guarantee victory if we are patient to hear and obey (2 Samuel 5:17-25).

My sheep hear my voice and they follow is Christ’s word (John 10:27). If you follow the shepherd, you will always avoid danger as well as enjoy the shepherd’s protection if any trouble arises (Psalm 23:4).

Are you hearing and following the good shepherd? What strange voices are you hearing and following?

God always provides a way of escape from temptation and danger and you will hear His direction and guidance clearly (1 Corinthians 10:13; Isaiah 30:21).

Soberness and vigilance are essential if victory is to be ours every time (1 Peter 5:8). The devil is always on the look out for unguarded moments and frivolous times to strike. Be sober. We are on the battlefield and at the war front. Be alert and battle ready always (Matthew 13:24-28).
