Job Title:Evening Buttery Assistant (Maternity Cover)

Purpose:To assist in laying tables for evening meals, serving meals and clearing away.

Job Description

Duties may involve any of the following:

To lay up the tables in hall for meals.

To assist in clearing away and cleaning afterwards.

To assist in serving evening meals.

To operate the till.

General

Training and Correct Working Methods

  • To participate in training designed to minimise occupational risks
  • To provide black trousers/skirt and white shirt/blouse and covered black shoes.
  • To wear any protective clothing supplied and follow directions on safe working methods.
  • The post holder will be required to be familiar with, and work in accordance with, all College’s policies and procedures.

The postholder will be expected to undertake any other duties or tasks as reasonably directed or requested by the Hall Supervisor. This job description may be subject to review in consultation with the postholder.

Terms and Conditions

Appointment: / This is a temporary Maternity Leave cover post for 12 months
Salary: / £8.27 per hour
Pension rights: / Oxford Staff Pension Scheme (OSPS)
Hours of working: / Part time, 6.00pm – 8.00pmSunday to Friday.
Annual leave entitlement: / The postholder will be entitled to six weeks paid leave plus 8 days Bank Holiday in each year, the leave to be taken at such times as shall be mutually convenient, and agreed in advance with the relevant manager
Notice period: / During the initial probationary period, notice will be one week on either side. Subsequent to satisfactory review and confirmation in the post the notice period will be one month on either side.
