Description:

/ This 2-day course includes review of contract documents, components, and the construction of traffic control signal and lighting systems. This course is designed to educate participants on MnDOT construction standards, procedures, and specifications for traffic control signal and lighting systems and obtain MnDOT Signal and Lighting certification up to 5 years. The course will be taught in a traditional classroom setting and will end with a 90 minute open book exam. A minimum score of 70% is required to pass.

Learning Objectives

/ Students will receive information to aid in their delivery of quality signal and lighting systems minimizing problems during and after construction and obtain certification to work on MnDOT traffic control signals and lighting projects.

Audience:

/ Construction inspectors, contractors, and consultants who are not MnDOT Signal and Lighting certified to work on MnDOT traffic control signals and lighting construction projects. Also open to any state, county, or city personnel interested in the construction requirements for MnDOT traffic control signals and lighting.

A field guide and other class materials will be provided as part of the registration fee.

Continental Breakfast and lunch will be provided both days.

/ Please make your own arrangements if necessary. There are numerous hotels within a few miles.

Registration Procedures:

/ MNDOT EMPLOYEES:
Obtain supervisory approval and contact your Training Representative to register.
NON MNDOT CUSTOMERS: Please use attached registration form and send to Ron Bisek,
MnDOT - Training Coordinator, 1500 West County Road B2, MS 725, Roseville, MN 55113. Registration form and check must accompany each other.
Registrations for each class will be closed 7 days before the start of that class.
Enrollment confirmations will be sent to paid registrants via email. You are not registered until confirmation is received. Class size is limited.

Cancellation Procedures:

/ Cancellations must be made in writing to Ron Bisek a minimum of 7 calendar days prior to the class starting date. Substitutions allowed. (late cancelations and no shows will be charged)
Changes to class date made within 7 days of training date will be charged $60
MnDOT employees must cancel through their TDS.

Compensatory Time:

/ Employees who are subject to overtime should note that all non-assigned training is voluntary and that the total state time is not to exceed the regular scheduled work day.
