TORONTO, Ontario, July 10, 2012 -- Epicor Software Corporation, a global leader in business software solutions for manufacturing, distribution, retail and services organizations, today announced at the 2012 Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC) that the newest versions of the next-generation Epicor enterprise resource planning (ERP) and Epicor iScala business software offerings will both support Microsoft Corp.’s SQL Server 2012.

“SQL Server 2012 was developed to give customers high-performance data warehousing, enhanced security features, and greater uptime for mission-critical workloads,” said Eugene Saburi, General Manager, SQL Server Product Marketing, Microsoft. “Epicor has a proven history of delivering ERP systems built for SQL Server, and shares our view that companies of all sizes—small businesses to midmarket organizations, to global enterprises—will benefit from SQL Server 2012 data platform innovations.”
The next-generation Epicor ERP was first introduced in 2008 and to date been selected by more than 3,000 customers in 63 countries worldwide spanning the manufacturing, distribution, retail and services industries. Built on the Epicor True SOA™ architecture that leverages Microsoft .NET, the software is designed to offer extensive flexibility, usability, and agility in support of application-to-application integration and business-to-business collaboration, key to enabling the delivery of information throughout the enterprise. SQL Server 2012 will be generally available to Epicor ERP customers in September 2012.
Epicor iScala is a business solution designed for the worldwide divisions and subsidiaries of multinational corporations and large local or regional companies that need to collaborate with customers, suppliers, sister organizations or other partners to achieve operational and business excellence. Epicor iScala offers organizations—including the chemical and pharmaceutical, industrial machinery, light engineering, electronics, automotive components, consumer packaged goods and hospitality industries—integrated ERP, supply chain, manufacturing execution systems (MES), field service, project management, payroll and other capabilities, all built on a collaborative business framework leveraging Microsoft .NET and Web services. SQL Server 2012 will be generally available to Epicor iScala customers in September 2012.
