2 CE Workshops on Billing & Documentation
Introductory workshop, Saturday morning 9 AM - Noon, 11/15/08 at UNCW Computer Info Bldg., Rm. 1008.
Instructional level: basic
Its objectives will be to introduce students and recent graduates to the pragmatic aspects of professional practice for both in- and out-patient services. The focus will be to understand

billing and reimbursement issues
potential mismatches between academic training and professional practice
Advanced workshop, Saturday afternoon, 1 – 4 PM, 11/15/08, at UNCW Computer Info Bldg., Room #1008.
Instructional level: intermediate
This session is being offered independent of the first. Individuals can take either one or both of them, as they choose.
This workshop will focus exclusively on
the neuropsychological testing codes and emerging developments of billing two codes simultaneously
the effects of 2006 CMS transmittal letter

and these implications for compliance officers.

Both workshops will be presented by Dr. Tony Puente, who was part of the national committee that rewrote some of the CPT codes recently relative to psychological assessment; he was the only psychologist on this committee. Dr. Puente also has a record including being past president of NCPA and the National Academy of Neuropsychology, has published seven books and over 150 articles in professional journals.
Each workshop will be offered for 3 CEU’s. If both are taken, 6 CEU’s will be rewarded upon their successful completion.
Registration and payment are due by November 8, 2008. A 100% refund will be offered to anyone who cancels prior to 11/8/08. After that date no refund will be offered.
These programs are cosponsored by the North Carolina Psychological Association (NCPA) and CFPA. NCPA is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. NCPA maintains responsibility for this program and its content. These programs are offered for 3 hours apiece of continuing education credit.
