CARRIER OF GANJA ARRESTED & 20 Kgs. GANJARECOVERED

Special staff of South West District has arrested one carrier of Ganja namely Ranjeet Singh @ Bunty aged 28 yrs. S/o Veer Pal Singh R/o A1/13 New Kondly, Mayur Vihar, Delhi, permanent address V.P.O. Kmour, P. S. Sirsa Ganj, Distt. Firojabad, U.P. and twenty Kgs. Ganja has been recovered from his possession which was brought from Orrisa.

On 20/08/2009 information was received one person is carrying Ganja with him. The information was given to ACP/OPS & a team of Special staff headed by Inspr. Ranjeet Dhaka was constituted. The team laid down a trap after some time one person carrying two traveling bags arrived there and kept on waiting for some one. At about 05.30 PM when he started moving from there with his bags, the police team apprehended him. Later on he was identified as Ranjeet Singh @ Bunty S/o Veer Pal Singh. After completion of duly served notices as per procedure, on checking the bags, 20 Kgs. Ganja was found inside both the bags. After that a case FIR No. 209/09 U/S 20/61/85NDPS Act P.S. Delhi Cantt dated 20/08/2009 has been registered & investigation taken up.

On sustained interrogation accused disclosed that he had brought this Ganja from Bhuwaneshwer (Orrisa). One person namely Loona had supplied this Ganja to him in Bhuwaneshwer and he came to Delhi by Utkal Express train. After carrying this Ganja to Delhi he had to supply it further to another person. Railway ticket of Utkal express train was also recovered from his possession. Further investigation is going on to identity the source and destination of the recovered Ganja.

GANG OF PICK-POCKETERS BUSTED, 85 STOLEN MOBILE PHONES RECOVERED BY PS SEEMA PURI

With the arrest of (1) Anish S/o Naseeruddin R/o A-301, Old Seema Puri, Delhi., (2) Julfikar @ Abdulla S/o Sahabuddin R/o A-302, Old Seema Puri, Delhi (3) Amit S/o Ilam Singh R/o F-1 Old Seema Puri, Delhi and (4) Sanjay S/o Nand Lal R/o E-105, Old Seema Puri, Delhi, the staff of PS Seema Puri has busted the gang of pick-picketers operating in buses and recovered 85 stolen mobile phones.

BRIEF FACTS

During last few days the incidents of pick pocketing in buses were increasing in and around the area of Seema Puri. To curb this menace a team consisting SHO/Inspr. Vir Singh Tyagi, SI Surender Kumar, HC Rameshwar Dass, HC Jitender, Ct. Satender, Ct. Sandeep and Ct. Richpal was constituted under the supervision of ACP/Seema Puri Shri Anil Kumar Lal. On a secret information, the team collected and complied a data of different criminals and started to keep watch on them. In this process informers were also deployed. During the process of crime prevention and bus checking, the members of the team apprehended Anish S/o Naseeruddin R/o A-301, Old Seema Puri, Delhi., (2) Julfikar @ Abdulla S/o Sahabuddin R/o A-302, Old Seema Puri, Delhi and (3) Amit S/o Ilam Singh R/o F-1 Old Seema Puri, Delhi with knives and stolen mobile phones near DTC depot Seema Puri on 21.8.09 at about 7:00 PM. Hence case FIR No.288 dt. 21.8.09 u/s 25 Arms Act PS Seema Puri and FIR No.289 dt. 21.8.09 u/s 25 Arms Act PS Seema Puri were registered and investigation was taken up.

On sustained interrogation the accused persons disclosed to have committed about 300-400 incidents of pick pocketing of Mobile phone instruments alongwith his associates and 10 mobile phones were recovered at the instance of Julfikar, 15 mobile phones were recovered at the instance of Anish, 20 mobile phones were recovered at the instance of Amit and 40 mobile phones were also recovered from shop No.10, Badana Market, Apsra Border, Saheed Nagar, U.P. from the possession of Sanjay, who is the receiver of stolen mobile phones. A separate kalandra u/s 103 DP Act has been prepared against Sanjay and Amit.

He is a desperate Snatcher and has been found involved in more than 6 cases of Snatching, Arms Act, Riots & Hurt Act of PS Seema Puri. His brother, namely, Akil reportedly opened fire on police party in the year 1993. The following cases are registered against him.

SENSATIONAL MURDER CASE SOLVED: ACCUSED ARRESTED

With the arrest of Jai Kumar @ Lala aged 23 years S/O Shri Shriniwas Sharma R/O 107, G.No. 11, PH-10 Shiv Vihar , Ajay aged 28 years S/O Ram Kishore Sharma R/O G.No. 9 Phase-10 Shiv Vihar and Narender aged 29 years S/O Shri Harish Chand Sharma R/O 178 Gali No. 10 Phase-10 Shiv Vihar Karawal Nagar North East District has solved and worked out sensational planned murder of one Pramod aged 28 years S/O Shri Dharam Pal R/O Village Soram Gohala PS Shahpur Mujjafarnagar UP and recovered weapon of offence

INCIDENT AND TEAM

On the night between 20-21/8/09 at about 12.30 AM a PCR call that one man has been shot and there is threat to life of caller also was received at PS Karawal Nagar. ASI Vijay Singh was entrusted the DD for enquiry but at first instance place of occurrence could not be located . However, keeping in view the sensitivity and serious nature of call a team consisting of Inspr. Virendra Punj, Narendra Tyagi A.T.O and C.M. Meena Inspr. Investigation and ASI Vijay Singh, Ct. Khem Chand, Ct. Ramesh was formed under the supervision of Shri Mohinder Singh Dabas ACP/Gokalpuri.

The local police of PS Karawal Nagar made a call on the number of the caller which was picked up by one Sanjiv Kumar who stated that he is also apprehending threat to his life and presently he is away from the spot. The local police built-up the courage and confidence in him and assured him proper action. Subsequently, Sanjiv alongwith his cousin Ashwini joined the investigating team. It was revealed that one Sachin brother in law of Sanjeev solemnized love marriage with one Manisha (name changed) 10-11 months ago for which criminal case was got registered against Sachin in PS Nand Nagri. Sanjeev and Pramod (maternal uncle of Sachin) were witnesses to this love marriage. However, the custody of Manisha was restored to Sachin by the court as per the wish and desire of the girl. However, later on some sort of mis-understanding and dispute arose between them and their relations became strange with each other. The girl was presently residing with her parents in Shiv Vihar Karawal Nagar. Ajay brother of the girl was making constant calls to family members of Sachin to settle the matter with different motive and design to teach them a lesson for causing ill-fame to his family due to this marriage. On the day of incident, Ajay again made contacts with them and manage to fix a meeting with Pramod, Sanjeev and Ashwini at his place in Shiv Vihar Karawal Nagar. Though, they were not believing in their pursuation but to the assurance of one Narender known to Sanjeev, they agreed at first to meet at Gagan Cinema and on further assurance of Narender they arrived near Jawahar Nagar wherefrom Narender picked up Sanjiv and Parmod and Jai Kumar @ Lala accompanied Ashwini to their way to one house in Phase-9 Gali No. 9 Shiv Vihar. Their negotiations were going on till late

in night when at about 12-20 AM Ajay took Parmod outside on the pretest of some separate talks and Jai Kumar @ Lala and Narender also followed them while Sanjiv and Ashwini were asked by them to wait inside . However, Sanjiv and Ashwini smell a rat and out of curiosity when they came out of the house they noticed that Ajay and Narender were assaulting Pramod with danda and saria and they witnessed Jai Kumar @ Lala pulled out a country made pistol and fired upon Pramod. They also threatened Sanjiv and Ashwini to leave the place otherwise they would also be met with same fate. The incident left a deep impact on the duo as they were not aware of the topography of the area and apprehending danger to their lives Sanjeev and Ashwini ran away from the spot.

During the course of investigation identity of the assailant was got fixed on the basis of the description by the complainant and the local police team swung into action without any loss of time and combing of the area was done as pickets were detailed in the area for prevention and detection of crime and with a view to keep check on night burglary, house theft and motor vehicle theft as per the directions of senior officers during night hours. As a result, accused persons namely Jai Kumar @ Lala aged 23 years S/O Shri Shriniwas Sharma R/O 107, G.No. 11, PH-10 Shiv Vihar , Ajay aged 28 years S/O Ram Kishore Sharma R/O G.No. 9 Phase-10 Shiv Vihar and Narender aged 29 years S/O Shri Harish Chand Sharma R/O 178 Gali No. 10 Phase-10 Shiv Vihar Karawal Nagar were apprehended from the area while running away from the area to evade their arrest. At the first instance they tried to misled the police however when subjected to sustained interrogation trio confessed to have committed the crime and it was revealed that they even attempted to disfigure the face of deceased Pramod also so that he may not be identified as he was resident to Mujaffar Nagar UP.

RECOVERY

Weapon of offence country made pistol, fired cartridge case, blood soaked bricks and motor cycle used in commission of crime etc were also recovered by the police. Further investigation is on progress.

1. Jai Kumar @ Lala aged 23 years S/O Shri Shriniwas Sharma R/O 107, G.No. 11, PH-10 Shiv Vihar is Bad Character Bundle- A of PS Karawal Nagar. There are 12 previous criminal involvements including Murder, Dacoity, Robbery and M.V. Theft against him. He is un-married and presently unemployed. He has two brothers and one sister.

2. Ajay aged 28 years S/O Ram Kishore Sharma R/O G.No. 9 Phase-10 Shiv Vihar. He has two brothers and one sister. He is working as clothes printing in Loni.

3. Narender aged 29 years S/O Shri Harish Chand Sharma R/O 178 Gali No. 10 Phase-10 Shiv Vihar Karawal Nagar. He has four brothers and one sister. He is married and having two children.

THE FUGUTIVE WHO ADMINISTERED SEDATIVES TO PRIEST IN A HOTEL NABBED

With the arrest of (1) Gaurav Chawla aged 26 years s/o Bishamber Nath Chawla r/o H.No. 255, Handia Mohalla, Gali No.2, Braham Puri, Muzaffar Nagar, UP and (2) Vikram aged 24 years s/o Ram Naresh r/o 611, Gali No.18, Joshi Road, Karol Bagh, Delhi, the staff of Central District has solved the drugging case of Crown Continental Hotel, Karol Bagh.

TEAM AND THE INCIDENT

A joint team consisting of Inspr. Sanjeev Kumar SHO/DBG Road, SI Jaswant Singh, SI Jeevan Singh, Ct. Suresh, Ct. Rohtash, Ct. Satender and Ct. Devender was constituted under the supervision of Shri Pushpender Kumar, ACP/Pahar Ganj, Central District, Delhi.

One Chander Prasad Sharma s/o Tikaram Sharma r/o Nepali Basti, Charch Kohima, NangaLand reported that he along with his wife was staying in Crown Continental Hotel, New Rohtak Road, Karol Bagh since 14.08.09. In the morning of 15.08.09, a waiter served them tea and toast. After consuming tea, they became unconscious. After some time, Shri M.L. Tomang came to their room and he awoke them from their unconsciousness. When the complainant checked, he found that his mobile phone and Rs. 5500/- kept in his purse were stolen. When he enquired aboutthe waiter, he was found missing. Subsequently, a case vide FIR No. 177/09 u/s 328/380 IPC was registered at PS DBG Road and investigation was taken up.

INVESTIGATION & INTERROGATION

During investigation, it was revealed that the waiter has joined the above hotel just one day before i.e. 14.08.09 and he has told his name as Gaurav Chawla but surprisingly, before escaping from the hotel, he removed his ID proof from the records of the hotel and also spoiled the CCTV recording. He has also offered sedatives to the hotel manager and committed the above incident in an organized manner. Fortunately, a mobile number given by that waiter at the time of joining the hotel, was available. His ownership was obtained but he was not found at that address. Subsequently, the investigation led to his father-in-law.

The police team acted professionally and on the night intervening 21-22.08.09, he was called in JeevanMalaHospital on the pretext that his father-in-law is admitted in the hospital. As he came in front of the hospital, he was apprehended by the police party.

During sustained interrogation, he admitted to have committed the above crime. He sold the stolen mobile phone to one Vikram who ran a mobile shop at Ambedkar Basti, Karol Bagh for Rs. 1800/-. He further disclosed that he has taken a rented room at 16/448, Military Road, Punjabi Basti, Anand Parbat about 4-5 days ago but he was in search of committing similar incident. So, he was staying in Hotel Sparsh, Pahar Ganj but when the hotel authorities cast suspicion on his ID proof, he changed the hotel and started staying in Hotel Hindustan International, Pahar Ganj but before he could execute his plan, he was apprehended by the alert police team. A cash of Rs. 5400/- including the amount received from selling mobile phone and sedative pills & powder have been recovered.

At his instance, Vikram was also apprehended and the mobile phone has been recovered from his possession. Further investigation is in progress and previous involvements of accused Gaurav are being ascertained.

PROFILE

(1)Gaurav Chawla aged 26 years s/o Bishamber Nath Chawla r/o H.No. 255, Handia Mohalla, Gali No.2, Braham Puri, Muzaffar Nagar, UP came to Delhi about two years ago. Earlier, he worked at a medical store in Muzaffar Nagar and hence he was aware about the use of sedative substances. He has worked in different hotels of Delhi as waiter. He has committed the above incident in an organized manner. He was again in search to commit similar incident.

(2)Vikram aged 24 years s/o Ram Naresh r/o 611, Gali No.18, Joshi Road, Karol Bagh, Delhi ran a mobile shop at Ambedkar Basti, Karol Bagh, Delhi.

DESPERATE CRIMINAL ARRESTED.

ONE DOZEN CASES OF BUS ROBBERY, SNATCHING etc. SOLVED.

The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has arrested a hard core criminal wanted in many cases of bus robberies, snatching and extortion. HC Rajbir Singh and Const. Pradeep Kumar of Anti Robbery Cell of Crime Branch had received information about the movement of a notorious criminal namely Raju @ Hakla. A team led by Insp. Sajjan Singh Yadav and comprising of SIs Kuldeep Singh, Ajit Malik, HCs Rajbir Singh No. 52/Crime, Laxman Parsad No. 22/Crime, Bhupesh Kumar 272/Crime Cts Manoj No 400/Crime, Rajesh Kumar No. 362/DRP, Pradeep Kumar No.233/Crime and Anand Pal No. 217/DRP under the supervision of ACP Sh. Jai Bhagwan was constituted to develop the information.

On 21.08.2009 the Crime Branch team finally succeeded in apprehending Raju @ Hakla at about 4.10 PM near DDAPark, Pontoon Bridge, Majnu Ka Tilla, Delhi when he reached there on a motor-cycle. On seeing the police party, he tried to flee from there while firing upon the police party. One illicit firearm and one more live round was recovered from Raju. FIR No. 138/09 dated 21.08.2009 U/s 186/353/307 IPC r.w. 25/27 Arms Act, PS Crime Branch, Nehru Place, Delhi has been registered in this regard. During the course of investigation, the accused has disclosed that along with his associates, he has been involved in a number of cases all over Delhi.

Identity of accused person is as below:-

  1. Raju @ Hakla S/o Sh. Om Parkash R/o C-234, Aman Vihar, Delhi. Age: 30 years

The accused is a desperate criminal involved in over 75 criminal cases including those of bus robbery, attempt to murder and snatching. His first criminal involvement goes back to 1994 and thereafter, he has graduated from committing small thefts to committing daring robberies in buses and snatching chains and bags while riding stolen motorcycles.

Following articles have been recovered:-

  1. One country made pistol of .315 bore with a cover of fired cartridge along with one live cartridge.
  2. One Motorcycle Make Bajaj Discover colour black/grey. (Registration No. UP-14AC-7498).

Ever since he came out of jail in March 2009, Raju @ Hakla has been active in committing bus robberies and chain snatching all over Delhi. He is suspected to have committed over 50 such incidents over the past 5 months. The following cases have been solved with his arrest :-
