Mathematics Discipline Plan

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Together we can make a difference! The education of your child is like a triangle, and all three sides must be present for it to be a success. You, as the parent/guardian, are a vital component to your child’s education. I, as the teacher, am willing to do all I can to help your child have a successful experience. Lastly, but not least, your child must be willing to do his/her part to achieve success. If we all work together, we can achieve wonderful things.

To help us make the most out of our classroom time, I have instituted a discipline plan. This plan will be used to provide a climate where I can teach to the best of my ability and students can learn to the best of their ability. This plan will be in effect at all times.

CLASSROOM RULES

1. Be in the room when the bell rings

2. Keep hands, feet, and other objects to yourself

* Stay where you belong *

3. Respect teacher’s right to teach and others’ right to learn

* No talking out of turn *

4. Come prepared; leave prepared

ABSENCES

If you are absent it is your responsibility to find out what makeup work needs to be completed. There will be a bulletin board in the back of the room with daily assignments on it. I am available before school, during lunch, and after school to help you with any missing work. If you are missing class for a school function – athletics, FCCLA, music, etc., – you must see me prior to your absence. Technically you are in school.

TESTING

Homework is a vital part of test preparation. Failure to be prepared will leave each student inadequately prepared for tests. If a student fails to complete all of the work the chances of successful test scores is minimized. If students are prepared and get his/her work done on time, he/she will be successful!

GRADING

Students will be graded on the following areas.

1. Homework/class work

2. Quizzes

3. Tests

4. Written assignments

This plan is meant to improve behavior, create a positive classroom climate, and make my expectations clear for you and your child.

Please review this policy and sign the attached sheet. If you have any questions or concerns throughout the year, please email me at . If your child returns it by Wednesday, they will receive 5 extra credit points.

Thank you.

Ms. Heather Salmi
