C.   Quality Assurance/Control Submittals: Submit the following

1.   Certificates: Submit certificate that applicator complies with requirements of this section.

D.   Verification Samples: For each finish product specified, two samples, minimum size 6 inches (150 mm) square, representing actual product.

1.5   QUALITY ASSURANCE

** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Include a mock-up if the project size and/or quality warrant taking such a precaution. The following is one example of how a mock-up on a large project might be specified. When deciding on the extent of the mock-up, consider all the major different types of work on the project.

A.   Mock-Up: Provide a mock-up for evaluation of surface preparation techniques and application workmanship.

1.   Finish areas designated by Architect.

2.   Do not proceed with remaining work until workmanship is approved by Architect.

3.   Refinish mock-up area as required to produce acceptable work.

1.6   DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

A.   Store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging until ready for installation.

B.   Storage and Protection: Store materials protected from exposure to harmful environmental conditions and at temperature and humidity conditions recommended by the manufacturer.

1.7   PROJECT CONDITIONS

A.   Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's absolute limits.

1.8   WARRANTY

A.   Manufacturer's 5 Year Material Only Warranty available.

2.2   INSULATION/DRAINAGE BOARD

** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Residential application only. NEW Drain and Dry Drainage Board is now brown because it's made from sand, post-consumer recycled glass, and a proprietary ECOSE Technology binder that eliminates the formaldehyde and phenols found in traditional binders and insulation. For green-build projects and LEED® credits, no other fiber drainage board compares. Delete if not required.

Cross-link, closed cell Polyethylene-polyolefin foam products are reclaimed from the automotive industry and compressed into boards. It is then covered with a man-made non-woven fabric cover by heat process; no glues or resins are used. ShockWave Boards are considered a GREEN product due to its recycled content and can be used toward LEEDS building credits. ShockWave Boards act as a drainage medium to channel ground moisture away from the structures foundation and into the buildings drain tile system. It also protects the Mar-flex waterproofing membrane, especially during backfilling or other construction activity. Delete if not required.

B.   Product: ShockWave 1 or 2 Foundation Insulation/Drainage Board as manufactured by Mar-flex Waterproofing and Building Products.

1.   Material: Closed Cell Foam Board. Cross-linked, closed-cell foam reclaimed from automobiles.

** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Geo-Mat rolls are made of a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) that offers a strong resistance to hydrostatic pressure and excellent drainage. The dimples are aligned along a vertical and horizontal axis to rapidly channel water from grade to the footer drainage system. Geo-Mat is designed as a dampproofing drainage roll. Stud shaped dimples provide an air chamber between the roll and wall which keeps the wall dry. Delete if not required.

D.   Product: Geo-Mat Plus Drainage Roll as manufactured by Mar-flex Waterproofing and Building Products.

1.   Material: High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) drainage rolls with attached polypropylene geotextile mat.

2.5   ACCESSORY MATERIALS

A.   Provide accessory materials supplied by manufacturer, including the following:

** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Specify mastic below to patch cracks, voids and holes in the concrete or masonry walls, which are to receive waterproofing. Marflex 362 Mastic is made of fiberated, trowel grade, asphalt-based mastic, which is fortified with Biofiber. These materials adhere tightly to form a strong, flexible bond. They may be used in any weather conditions, including applying to damp or cold surfaces, for patching tie holes and honeycombed areas in both rough and smooth masonry surfaces.

1.   Mastic: Heavy bodied trowel grade coating of plastic or resin material compatible with the waterproofing membrane. Color: Black. Consistency: Rubber coating.

a.   Complies with ASTM D 4586 Type I and ASTM D 3409.

b.   Product: Mar-flex 362 Mastic as manufactured by Mar-flex Waterproofing Products.

** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Clips ease installation process and distributes weight of board while hanging to prevent damage during backfill.

2.   Clips: Pronged clips to distribute weight of board or fasteners to hold board in place until backfilled.

a.   Product: Mar-flex's Geo Clips as manufactured by Mar-flex Waterproofing and Building Products.

b.   Product: Mar-flex Board Fasteners as manufactured by Mar-flex Waterproofing and Building Products.

PART 3 EXECUTION

3.1   EXAMINATION

A.   Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared.

B.   If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.

3.2   PREPARATION

A.   Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.

B.   Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.

3.3   INSTALLATION

A.   Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.

3.4   INSULATING/DRAINAGE PANEL INSTALLATION
