To receive an ‘A’, the student must show ‘A’ level mastery on 3 out of 4 available and ‘B’ level mastery on all remaining TSW’s.

1. Listen to exemplar texts of familiar stories with repetitive lines. / I found myself being able to read along with the repetitive line books.
2. Participate and contribute to a class discussions about how a story (nursery rhymes, fairy tales, folk tales, fables, realistic fiction, fantasy) can be also a skit, play or a readers theater production. / I shared my ideas during the class discussion.
3. Explore how dialogue is written, (i.e., conventions of quotations and indentations) and develops a voice in characters. / I was able to notice that when someone is talking in the story there are funny lines before and after the talking words.
4. Work with their peers and share their opinions (why they like one story over another) of the different stories. / I was able to tell my peers what I thought about books,we read by giving example of the things I liked/or didn’t like in the story.
5. Create invitations and posters to inform their audience (school community) about their production. / My poster was detailed and easy to read. I made sure I had Who, What ,Where and when added. / I was able to make a colorful poster with some information about our production.
6. Participate in creating a program/playbill for their performance by including a drawn or media picture for the cover, listing the characters with the actors, and a synopsis of their play. / I was able to contribute information to add to our programs.
7. Use technology when creating the program/playbill . / I was able to not only add a picture but I was able to type words into my program in an appropriate amount of time. / I was able to draw a picture using a computer program that was mostly about what are play will be about.
8. Use what they know about the editing process to edit their writing to make it readable for their audience. / I was able to reread my program and add details drawn/ words to help make it more readable for others.
9. Speak in an appropriate voice for the performance. / I was able to speak with interpretation and voice for my character, so that the audience could hear me. / The audience was able to hear me most of the time.
