QUOTATIONS

Does each quotation effectively SHOW (support) its respective topic sentence?
Would any quotation serve as a stronger piece of evidence if it was shorter or longer?
Does the writer say HOW the quotation serves as evidence, or do they just say that it does? In other words, do they say “This shows” without saying “HOW it shows”?
Can you hear where the quotation starts and stops or is it fluidly integrated?

THE INTRODUCTION

Does the first sentence grab your attention? Does it make you want to keep reading?
Does the introduction begin generally and end with the specific thesis statement?
*Are there any big logical jumps between sentences in the introduction? Or does it flow step by step from the first sentence to the last?

THE CONCLUSION

What type of conclusion did the author writer? (Summary, Summary with Question, Implications)
Do you have any suggestions how they could make it more sophisticated or interesting?
