Feature Article Outline
When writing/typing your Feature article keep in mind:
a) It should be 1 page in length TYPED. 1 page means 1 full page not 2 paragraphs triple spaced to take up a whole page.
b) When you type your article it should be double spaced, and typed in 12 point, Time New Roman Font – no exceptions.

1) Introduction:
This should be a brief and have a good lead that grabs the reader's attention.
Leads may be:
o Anecdotes (brief story)
o Vignettes (vivid description of the setting, sensory details)
o Quotes - from authorities
o Familiar sayings or play on words that connects to the reader
o Surprising statistics or facts
o Question or questions for the reader
o An unusual statement
o Necessary background information

2) Lead Transition or Justifier
o Has a paragraph at the end of the lead that establishes the focus. Some magazine editors call this paragraph the "justifier" - it hints at what the reader will find out by reading the piece.

3)Body:
- Contains the main ideas related to the article's angle
- The main ideas are described, explained and developed with details.
