Manager of Membership Development

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reports to: President of the St. Cloud Chamber of Commerce

The Manager of Membership Development will contribute to the growth and success of the St. Cloud Chamber by retaining current members, generating new members, and promoting benefits and services of the Chamber. This position is an integral member of the Chamber team and develops and implements strategies to market to potential and existing members, to encourage member attendance at Chamber events, to assist in acquiring sponsors for Chamber events, to encourage payment of outstanding membership fees, and to help develop membership editorial content for Chamber publications.

Organizational Relationships: Works regularly and routinely with Chamber staff, members of the Board of Directors, members, and outside vendors.

Budget Responsibilities: Revenue on Renewal and New Members.

Responsibilities and Areas of Accountability:

1.  Prospect daily for new members and follow up on all leads generated by members, Board members, Team members, through events and any means generated in order to achieve monthly goals.

2.  Seek opportunities for membership upgrades.

3.  Retain members through regular phone calls, visits, and emails, especially at the four month from joining for respective members and update profiles.

4.  Share information on all sponsorship opportunities and event participation.

5.  Facilitate and manage Chamber/New Member Orientation and assist in securing sponsors if need be. Assist members in their completion of Plans of Involvement at Chamber Connection or upon joining.

6.  Work with Marketing/Communications contractors on planning and facilitating online style webinars for members to learn the features of membership.

7.  Schedule weekly Team meetings for the purpose of maintaining pipelines for prospective members and a retention process that reinforces achievement of monthly goals.

8.  Run monthly reports to ensure that Chamber Master is fully updated on all members for all appropriate fields, payments are properly entered, and ensuring that the database is up to date.

9.  Update the President/CEO on membership attainment of goals.

10.  Must attend most chamber activities, including but not limited to Business After Hours, signature events and quarterly luncheons.

11.  Continue to seek out and provide Social Media opportunities for our members and Chamber.

12.  Oversee the Business Directory portions of Chamber Master to ensure inclusion of all members at all appropriate categories in alphabetical and categorical sections.

13.  Review department collateral and work with marketing contractor to update when need be.

14.  Other duties/activities as assigned or necessary.

Qualifications:

·  Must have outstanding skills in sales, oral and written communication and working well with a diverse membership base.

·  Must be able to organize work and set and follow through on priorities.

·  Must be effective in working independently and as a team member.

·  Must be computer literate, with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

·  Must be able to work with social media platforms.

Typical Physical and Mental Demands:

Requires ability to travel locally.
