To Kill a MockingbirdArtifacts (Part 1)
Due: August 17 to turnitin.com
In order to further explore the artifacts you found during your To Kill a Mockingbird research, we will create an annotated bibliography.
An annotated bibliography is similar to a Works Cited page, but it expands on the quality and legitimacy of each source. Our annotated bibliography will consist of 6 parts for each artifact:
- Title
- Artifact
- Citation (in the same format as a Works Cited page)
- Summary of the Source
- Legitimacy of the source
- Reflection
Follow these steps for completing your annotated bibliography:
- Choose 1 artifact from each category you researched (you will have a total of 3)
For example: If you researched The Great Depression, Harper Lee and The Scottsboro Trial, you will have 1 artifact from The Great Depression, 1 artifact about Harper Lee and 1 artifact about The Scottsboro Trial)
You cannot use the same type of artifact twice (ie: you will not have more than one poem)
- Title the citation with the artifact category and artifact
Example: The Great Depression: Photograph of a Hooverville - Copy and paste the image or (if the artifact is long)just a screenshot of the artifact.
Example: Do not print all of the Jim Crow laws, just screen shot the first part.
- MLA Citation
Under the image, include the MLA formatted correct citation-remember, you will not include the URL at all!!
Citation Format:
Author Last Name, First Name. “Article Title.” Publisher. Day Month Year of Publication.
Web. Day Month Year of access.
- Summary Paragraph:
- Under the citation, write 1 paragraph that summarizes the source in 5+ sentences.
- Include the most important facts.
