9.36.1 System Summary
Leon County has a type five (5) E911 System, consisting of two (2) Primary 911 Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) and five Secondary PSAPs. CML/A K Associates provide the 911 service.
Selective Routing is used to route calls to the two Primary PSAPs and Selective Transfer is used for the Secondary PSAPs. The system includes Automatic Number Identification (ANI) and Automatic Location Identification (ALI). Both Primary PSAPs have fixed transfer, speed calling and 7-digit manual transfer capability.
9.36.1.1 LEON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE PRIMARY PSAP
A Primary PSAP for the unincorporated area is located in the Sheriff's Department. Direct dispatching is accomplished at this PSAP for law enforcement and EMS. Calls for fire, Florida State University, Florida A & M University, and Capitol Police are one button transferred to the appropriate dispatch agency as required.

9.36.1.2 TALLAHASSEE POLICE DEPARTMENT PRIMARY PSAP
A Primary PSAP is located at the Tallahassee Police Department serving the City of Tallahassee. Direct dispatching is accomplished at this PSAP for law enforcement only. Calls for fire, EMS, Florida State University, Florida A & M University, and Capitol Police are one button transferred to the appropriate dispatch agency as required.

9.36.1.3 TALLAHASSEE FIRE DEPARTMENT SECONDARY PSAP
The City of Tallahassee operates a Secondary PSAP co-located at the Tallahassee Police Department. Fire and rescue calls are direct dispatched. The Tallahassee Fire Department serves the unincorporated areas of Leon County as well as the City of Tallahassee. The six volunteer fire departments that serve unincorporated areas are also dispatched by the Tallahassee Fire Department.

9.36.1.4 LEON COUNTY EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES/EMS SECONDARY PSAP
The Leon County Sheriff’s Office operates a Secondary PSAP for Leon County emergency Medical Services located at the Leon County Sheriff’s Office for the direct dispatching of ambulance calls for the City and County.

The Florida State University operates a Secondary PSAP located on campus for the direct dispatching of law enforcement calls.

9.36.1.7 CAPITOL POLICE SECONDARY PSAP
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), Capitol Police has a Secondary PSAP for the direct dispatching of law enforcement calls to all Capitol Complex and Capital Circle Office Complex Buildings.

9.36.2 SYSTEM MANAGEMENT
The Leon County 911 System is under the overall management of the Leon County Board of County Commissioners. The Board of County commissioners has entered into an interlocal agreement with the Leon County Sheriff’s Office for the day to day administration and management of the system. The Emergency Management Director has been designated as the 911 System Director.
The two Primary and five Secondary PSAPs are staffed and operated by the respective agencies in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures developed by the Leon County Sheriff’s Office, Division of Emergency Management (LCSO/DEM). The responsible fiscal agent is the Board of County Commissioners.
9.36.3 INTERLOCAL AGREEMENTS
The Leon County E911 system has selective routing, thereby eliminating central office overlaps with adjoining counties. Therefore, there are no specific requirements for an interlocal agreement.
