POSITION SUMMARY:
Providetechnical support and audiovisual services for the College, including ITV and computer resources at ECC-Rolla.
ESSENTIAL TASKS:
Schedule, track usage, setup, maintain, service and inventory audio visual equipment and instructional technology equipment.
Provide technical and end-user support for equipment including both audio visual and computer operations.
Train faculty and staff to utilize computers, audio visual equipment and online resources.
Produce training documents relative to supported hardware and software, as needed.
Maintain inventory of audio visual equipment and instructional technology equipment.
Assist in assuring compliance with College policy regarding licensing protection.
Assist faculty with classroom hardware and software problems as requested; identify computer hardware and software problems/malfunctions and perform appropriate repairs; perform troubleshooting and preventive maintenance as needed.
Respond to questions concerning computer operating systems and applications software packages either individually or in group settings.
Maintain and inventory all assigned equipment, including requests for technology such as laptops/projectors and TV/DVD carts, supplies, and software installation.
Assist students in using instructional computer assisted programs.
Perform assigned responsibilities, duties, and tasks according to established practices, procedures, techniques, and standards in a safe manner and with minimal supervision.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
Assist the testing center by performing duties which include: Tutor students; review tests; administer and monitor tests; retrieve and file tests from instructors.
Assist students and faculty with online account access such as resetting lost or compromised passwords.
Perform other related duties as may be assigned.
Ensure that all activities are conducted within the established guidelines of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
Assist computer technicians in providing technical support and repair of computer systems.
Report computer issues to IT department.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
Knowledge of department and college policies, procedures, and practices with the ability to answer work related questions; and/or interpret and apply these guidelines correctly in various situations
Knowledge of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
Knowledge of College Information Technology policy
Familiarity with a wide variety of personal computer systems and peripherals, including installation in freestanding and network environments.
Knowledge of safety procedures for operating electrical and mechanical equipment.
Working knowledge of PC related hardware, chip and board installation, and repair techniques.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with other employees at all levels.
Problem solving skills.
Mechanical ability sufficient to install, inspect, and make basic repairs of audio visual equipment.
Ability to handle confidential matters judiciously.
Ability to operate and demonstrate a wide variety of audio visual equipment including video cameras, data video projectors and notebook computers.
Ability to operate computerized systems, including networks, operating systems, and applications software.
Ability to work effectively, set priority, request and effectively use assistance without a great deal of supervision.
Ability to make adjustments to or perform minor repairs necessary to maintain proper operation and perform required cleaning audio visual equipment.

EQUIPMENT/SOFTWARE:
Use office machines such as telephones, fax machines, copiers or calculators.
Use computers for data entry; Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), or custom applications.
Use, develop, or repair hardware, software or network systems.
Repair audio visual equipment such as video projectors, scanners and instructional technology equipment.
WORKING CONDITIONS - the following physical conditions and hazards may be encountered in this position:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is in an indoor environment with frequent exposure to risk of electrical shock.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk or stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; andtalk or hear.
The employee is regularly required to sit; and occasionally required to climb or balance.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
The position may also require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
