Q4.1
Find out which forms you would use to reflect and evaluate your work (it may be that there is just a space at the end of the lesson plan or activity plan, rather than a specific questionnaire).
Use the relevant form to reflect on an activity that you have completed with an individual child or group of children.
Was the documentation adequate to allow you to reflect accurately on your practice? If not, what other factors need to be included? Perhaps you may feel that a new format is needed, if so, jot down the types of points you would include and what format this would take.

Q4.4
Using the information in part 2 of Module 4, devise a PDP based on your current role. Provide 2 short-term goals (up to 6 months), 2 medium-term goals (6 – 12 months) and 1 long-term goal (2 years).
You may use the attached form or use one of your own.
Consider your current role. Which areas of personal professional development do you feel you need to enhance, and how this will be achieved?
Identify the criterion that will signify you have achieved your goals, and give a realistic deadline for achievement.
(Note: your goals should relate to personal development – namely, how you will develop your own skills, knowledge and understanding – rather than relating to specific aspects of practice or provision, such as how you will develop the ICT equipment, parent partnership or resources within the setting.)

Please note:

  • For GCE O levels awarded before summer 1975, a pass should be recorded rather than a note of the grade, as the grading system varied between boards. Certificates should clearly state that the candidate has passed.
  • For GCE O levels awarded in the summer of 1975 onwards, only grades A-C are acceptable, and these should be recorded.
  • GCSE grades A*-C meet Standard 11.
  • CSE passes need to be at grade 1 to meet standard 11.
  • Adult basic skills/skills for life and key skills are not graded, and just a pass should be recorded.
  • Where the candidate has a NARIC certification of comparability, this should be attached together with a copy of the original certificate.
