93.1 AMOR OPENS ITS HEART “IN THE HEIGHTS”

-93.1 Amor Teams Up With the American Heart Association, Revolucion and Broadway Show “In the Heights” to Help Spread Awareness of Heart Disease-

Miami, FL - (February 18th, 2009) - Spanish Broadcasting System (NASDAQ: SBSA) (SBS) announced today that WPAT-FM 93.1 Amor has joined forces with the American Heart Association and the hit Broadway show “In the Heights” in spreading awareness about heart disease to New York City based Hispanics by participating in the public relations program entitled “Hearts in the Heights,” a small initiative of the “Go Red Corazón” movement. WPAT FM 93.1 Amor is joining with the American Heart Association and Communications agency Revolucion as part of the “Go Red Corazón” movement.

The Hearts in the Heights program comes on the heels of the American Heart Association’s Casting Call event at New York’s Grand Central Station earlier this month, where former Mun2 host Julissa Bermudez joined Telemundo 47 anchor Odalys Molina to speak on behalf of the cause.

WPAT FM 93.1 Amor, the number one Spanish radio station for pop and romantic music, will participate in this heartfelt movement by providing feature interviews of cast members from “In the Heights” during the morning show “Amor Temprano en La Mañana.” This show hosts: Reyis Lora, Claudia Morales y Hugo “El Gordo will encourage the audience to live a healthy-hearty life and inform them about the “Go Red Corazón” movement. In addition to educating audiences about how one can live a healthy life free of heart disease, 93.1 Amor will distribute free tickets to “In the Heights” that week.

“Heart disease is the leading cause of death among Latinos and not enough of us know that,” said Damaris Lasa, Regional Director, Multicultural Media and Marketing for the American Heart Association. “We hope this joint effort will get Latinos to take notice and make lasting lifestyle changes for their hearts.”

All “In the Heights” Broadway performances between February 22 and February 28 will support the “Go Red Corazón” efforts with free giveaways, as well as a special announcement by Tony Award nominee, Olga Merediz, who plays “Abuela Claudia” in the show.
