Hydraulic Static Bearing Design
l The floating hydraulic bearing is designed with a heavy duty roller bearing.
l Hydrostatic bearing design is revolutionary feature. In addition to superior resistance to heat expansion, asymmetrical loading, and heavy duty cutting, this technology guarantees prolonged machine servicing life and stability throughout all shifts.
l The table is manufactured from high tensile Meehanite cast iron and built on a one-piece base casting for maximum durability and rigidity, which surpasses many peer model’s two-piece base design.

l Detail, innovation, and capacity are put into practice in the RAL series Vertical Turning & Boring Lathe. Massive ribbed box structure, hydrostatic bearing of table, and octagonal ram construction are all integrated into the exceptional design of the RAL vertical lathes. The combined features and intensive attention to detail enable the RAL VTL to perform in today’s most demanding applications.

Main Table Driven
l Power is transmitted to the table via a proprietary two step, hydraulically shifted gearbox.
l Maximum loading can reach 10,000kg on RAL-16; nearly doubling competing models.
l Specially designed 2 step gear box to produce 18,790 Nm Max. torque on a Fanuc α40/6000i spindle motor.
Special Slant Saddle Design
l The 15° slant saddle design is applied on both RAL-16 and RAL-20.
l This reduces overhang problem and provides increased machine rigidity.

Ram Construction
l Unique octagonal ram construction records outstanding performance in terms of thermal expansion control and straightness.
l Octagonal design provides impressive, 23% more clearance than square ram, through-hole capacity to allow better clearance when boring a deep hole in workpiece.
l 240x270mm ram cross sections to handle all kinds of turning and cutting jobs.
l Flexibility and availability of 90゜angular heads (for models with C-axis) to complete milling/drilling/tapping in a single setup
l Balanced cutting power for cutting both internal diameter(I.D.) and outside diameter(O.D.) with two sets of clamping gibs to support cutting stress from both directions. The result is equal quality in terms of finishing surface and accuracy for both I.D. and O.D.
RIGIDITY & CONSTRUCTION
Crossrail Slant and Locking
l A 15゜slant bed design for the crossrail X-axis travel is implemented for higher rigidity to heavy duty turning jobs.
l The height of cross rail is designed to be adjustable according to workpiece geometries along an 800mm W-axis travel with 5 positions.
l Every position is locked by independent hydraulic clamping cylinders plus large taper lock pins to ensure maximum cutting safety. Each of the engaging position is designed to take crossrail rigidity to the next level. The combined features strengthen machine’s side cutting capacity while promoting repeatability and eliminating overhang problems of tool ram. .
RIGIDITY & CONSTRUCTION
Drive System & Moglice Surface
l The X and Z axes slide way are all hand scraped with MOGLICE coating material for perfect alignment and friction-free movement.
l This unique MOGLICE coating material, with 1:1 correct to the micron property, has a quarter less friction than traditional Turcite B coating material. Therefore, it eliminates backlash and minimizes wear problems happened in traditional box-ways machine as well as maintains long term accuracy.
