The position will work under the supervision of the YNHHS Director of Medical Staff Administration and the local hospital's Chief Medical Officer to oversee medical staff services at two Yale New Haven Health System affiliated hospitals. This is an exciting opportunity and one with future development and growth possibilities foran energetic medical staff professional who wants to be involved at the outset in the development of system-wide credentialing/privileging functions and medical staff administration.
Under general supervision and consistent with the policies and procedures of the YNHHS Medical Staff Administration Department, the Medical Staff Site Manager is responsible for the day to day management of the functions of medical staff administration at Lawrence + Memorial (New London, CT) an Westerly (RI) Hospitals.
Responsibilities include managing, organizing and supervising the medical staff services functions and maintainingcompliance with applicable standards of The Joint Commission, Federal & State Regulations and the relevant Medical Staff Bylaws/Rules & Regulations.
Manages all credentialing, privileging and appointment activities and is directly responsible for the oversight, management and work of staff.
Ensures the effective use of resources, staff, and functions as a member of the specific YNHHS affiliated hospital team as well as the larger YNHHS Medical Staff Administration Department to assure optimum performance.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred but not required.
Medical Staff Services Certification as a Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) and/or Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) required or within three (3) years of hire.
At least 3-5+ years of hospital medical staff services department experience and demonstrated experience in the management of medical staff services staff
