SENIOR HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST

Position Overview:

The Senior HR Generalist will provide strategic HR leadership/partnership and support to the Association ensuring achievement of business strategies and objectives by maximizing human capital. This includes building business partner relationships based on trust and credibility, and the effective execution of HR programs, policies, and practices so that quality objectives and deadlines are met successfully. Excellent customer service focus, decision-making, creative and innovative problem-solving skills and leadership presence and capabilities, as well as stellar communication skills and executive maturity are keys to success in this role. Independent judgment and discretion are highly desired qualities as most duties performed are of a highly sensitive and confidential nature. The ability to produce high quality work, be flexible, prioritize business demands, anticipate needs, be proactive, and to take initiative are critical competencies in this role.

The incumbent will administer and provide technical expertise in the following functional areas of Human Resources: Employee total compensation and reward programs, employee benefits and leave administration, recruitment and employment, performance management, employee relations and policy/procedure development and administration. Communicate with and support employees, supervisors, and managers to ensure consistent interpretation and application of Human Resources policies/procedures and compliance with pertinent federal and state laws and regulation. Communicate effectively with and provide counsel and guidance to management and staff to ensure consistent interpretation and application of HR policies/procedures and compliance with pertinent federal and state laws. Provide support of sales and service efforts designed to retain existing relationships and enable growth of new relationships. Ensure sustained profitable growth through support of the institution’s deposit, loan and fee income goals.

Education Required:

Bachelor’s Degree in a business related curriculum, or the equivalent. Graduate degree and Certified Professional in Human Resources and/or Employee Compensation (SPHR/PHR/CCP) strongly preferred.

Experience Required:

Typically requires a minimum of eight (8) years of demonstrated experience in the administration and management of Human Resource policies, procedures, and practices. Demonstrated successful experience in the administration of two or more HR functional areas, i.e. employee compensation and benefits; recruitment and employment; employee relations; and HR policy development and administration. Banking experience desired. Membership in the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is desirable.
