OUR MISSION STATEMENT: The mission of the American Legion Auxiliary is to serve veterans, their families and their communities.

The meeting of the Auxiliary Unit 136 was called to order by President, Tracy Kinnickat 7:00 p.m. with

16members present, prayer by Monica McDaniel followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and the Preamble.

Minutes:Minutes for August were approved.

Treasurer’s report:No treasurer’s report. Nancy Johnson is dealing with flooding. Receipts were presented for Old Settler’s $107.91.

Chaplain’s report: No chaplain’s report. Jessie Johnson is dealing with flooding. Welcome new member Kathy Lawrence. Prayer requests for: Roberta Sanders, Vickie and Duane Kalous, Lori Metz, Terri and Tom Knight, Ron and Jessie Johnson, Barbara Giovani and Nancy Johnson.

Children and Youth/JR Activities: Bake sale is on hold until further notice due to flooding.

Historian: Carolyn Kitchens explained her 9/11 memorial display board.

Villa Maria & Maria Court: Nothing to report this month. October the goody bags will be filled during October meeting.

VA&R Report: Nothing to report this month.

Fundraisers: Old Settler’s BBQ expenses were $107.99 sold $260 for a profit of $152.01. All food items were sold. Koozie sales were $102 total profit to date $305.50.

Membership report: Sheryl Carpenter reported 10 members sent in dues. The corrected per capita tax to be paid on 9/13.

Volunteer Hours Report: Carol Benson reported total volunteer hours at 4025, donations were $878.49, flag display hours were 3932, total service hours were 193 with mileage at 651. Three members turned in coupons for a total of $1691.75. Total number of members reporting this month,11.

Communications: Trish Carroll read a thank you card from Mary Green and two letters of thanks from Department for clothing and toiletry item donations.

Old Business: Deb Crawford expressed thanks for all who helped and brought food for Sid Sanders funeral dinner. Another thanks to Connie Evans, Nancy Johnson, Sheryl Carpenter and Deb Crawford for making dinner for the Tom and Terri Knight clean-up crew and ROBOCON disaster workers. Elsie’s 90th birthday party was a big success, thanks to all who attended.

Upcoming fund-raiser for Bruce Niblack: items for movie basket were turned in. Deb Crawford reported information on events: raffle tickets $1 each or $5 for 6 tickets, lots of great items have been donated for drawings. Events start at 3pm and the Pig Roast starts at 5pm for $10 consisting of pulled pork, beans, potato salad and rolls. There will be games, best costume contest and one of our members will play guitar and sing, Jerry (no last name). SAL donated a keg for $1.50 draws. Jello shots will be available as well.

Carolyn Kitchens requested any pictures available. Pat Johnson turned in pictures of Memorial Service.

There will be a vote for a Post 136 Halloween party. Details to be announced.

New Business: Optimist Club Dinner on 10/14. Would like the auxiliary to set-up salad, rolls and donate desserts for a $150 donation. Motion to participate by Deb Morris and 2nd by Lori Metz. Motion passed.

Fall conference information presented by Sheryl Carpenter. This will be a learning lesson. All committee chairmen should attend to learn about reports and how to fill them out.
