Directions:

Create a file on your DESKTOP called Finals Review. Save everything you do today in that folder.

Open up the Review Mail Merge 2 Letter. This document is what you’ll print when you finish today’s Review, so copy/paste all items to this document.

Create a Letterhead for a business you might own someday. Need to have: Name, Location, and Logo. Part of it can be Text and you need to draw or find in Clip Art at least 1 picture for the Logo/Letterhead. Copy/Paste your Letterheadto the Mail Merge Letter 2 (replace Gray Box with your Letterhead).

Go to Tvrdy Website and Download the following:

  • 13LOANS.xls, 15TIME.xls, and 34Merge.mdb files. Save to your DESKTOP Folder.

Open 13 Loans Excel File – key in formulas for Total, Average, Maximum, and Minimum. Be sure grid lines show before you copy/paste. Save as YourName Spreadsheet. (Copy/Paste to Mail Merge Letter2).

Open 15 Time Excel File – key in formulas for Regular Salary, OT Salary, Total Salary, and Weekly Salary. Create a Bar Chart for Total Salary with the Labels being the Dates (November 1-5). Title the Chart “Total Salary for November 1-5”. Create the chart as an object in the current spreadsheet (not as a new sheet). Save as Your Name Chart. (Copy/Paste to Mail Merge Letter2).

Mail Merge the Letter with the 34 Merge Database found on the Handout Drive. (Hint: Tools, Letters & Mailings, Mail Merge Wizard). REMEMBER - YOU NEED TO REPLACE THE FIELD NAMES I HAVE IN BLUE TYPE WITH THE FIELD NAMES FROM 34 MERGE! Important – Merge only President! (1 letter should print when you are finished). Save as Your Name Mail Merge.

Create a Query of your Vice Presidents from the 34Merge Document. (Copy/Paste the Query to Mail Merge Letter2).

The Review Mail Merge Letter2 should have the following added to it BEFORE YOU PRINT:

  • Copy/Paste your Letterhead at the top (to replace the gray box)
  • Copy/Paste your Spreadsheet where marked in red (be sure to copy/paste special with gridlines as a Microsoft Excel Object)
  • Copy/Paste your Bar Chart (just the Chart) where marked in green (be sure to resize so that it fits).
  • Copy/Paste your Vice President’s Query (marked in maroon)
  • Add a Header/Footer. The Header should have your Name, Date, and Name of this assignment. The Footer should have the File and File Pathname in it (Hint: Look at your Footer Options)
  • PRINT ONLY THIS LETTER.

When finished, hand in only the 1 letter printed to thePresident.
