Dear Parents,

This last school term will include many important events and activities for our Year One students. We will host the K-6 assembly this term and invite all parents, family and friends to come along on the day. Year One will also participate in a Science incursion during the term and take part in the end of year fun day for K-2. Below is an overview of the focus areas of learning for the term and important dates to remember.

Students will utilise technology regularly eg. ipads, web based apps, audio tools to view and create texts by working collaboratively with their peers.

Mathematics learning will continue to develop student’s number skills in addition, subtraction, multiplication (grouping) and division (sharing). Students will also revise 2D, 3D shapes, time and money and learn to solve word problems.

Science- Our Science unit this term is called Look! Listen! This unit investigates how light and sound work. Additionally, students will participate in a visiting Science incursion where all students participate in interactive, hands on experiments.
