Chorus Info for Parents
GJH Choruses are Performance Based Classes
- Mandatory Performances/Rehearsals (co-curricualr) are part of student grade
- Additional Performances (extra-curricular) are optional & strongly encouraged
- STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO PERFORM IN CONCERTS as 25% of grade
- STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO PERFORM IN CLASS EVERY DAYas 50% of grade
- STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO COMPLETE WRITTEN WORK AS 25% of grade
Uniforms – All Students must wear the same uniform for performance
- Students are expected to purchase a ChorusTuxedo Shirt ($13)
- Students are also expected to purchase a ChorusT-Shirt ($5-10)
- Students must provide LongBlack Pants, Black SocksBlack Shoes
- Cummerbunds & Ties will be provided as part of each uniform

What do I do if I can’t…
Attend a required concert (Winter Concert, Fine Arts Fest, Spring Concert)?
- Tell Ms. Wietrecki as soon as possible (asap!)
- Have Mom or Dad call or email Ms. Wietrecki with a reason why asap (at least two weeks before if possible)
- Complete an alternate assignment to make up points missed for not participating in a required concert
Attend a required after school rehearsal?
- Tell Ms. Wietrecki as soon as possible (asap!)
- Have Mom or Dad call or email Ms. Wietrecki with a reason why asap
- Bring a schedule of sports, dance, student council, newspaper, cooking club, etc… that may conflict with after schools rehearsals to Ms. Wietrecki asap
Get a ride to an event I want to participate in?
- Tell Ms. Wietrecki as soon as possible (asap)
- Ask a friend or family member (aunt, uncle, grandparent) if they can help by driving you
- Arrange a carpool with other Chorus students and their families
Afford a t-shirt/sweatshirt or to go on trip?
- Tell Ms. Wietrecki as soon as possible (asap)
- Set up a payment plan for the year
