Fitness & Wellness at the Kroc

We offer a wide range of exciting health and fitness options - from state-of-the-art free weights and strength training equipment, to all the fun toys (bands, balls, bosus, ropes, ladders, etc.) to elliptical cross-trainers, upright and recumbent bicycles and ultra-smooth treadmills - all equipped with their own 17-inch TV screen and USB port capable of accepting input from multiple portable devices! You can now watch, listen or read whatever you choose as you exercise!

We also have an outdoor jogging/walking trail (2/3 mile), a high-tech aerobics studio, and a fully-equipped, full-size, multi-use gymnasium ready for league play in basketball, volleyball, indoor soccer, Pickleball, and a number of other challenging sports!

Our well-trained and friendly fitness floor staff are here to make sure you have a pleasant and safe experience while working out. Our professional, Certified Personal Trainers can arrange a fitness assessment, develop a customized workout program, and motivate, educate and encourage you to help you meet your long-term fitness needs. You can also explore our schedule of exciting group exercise classes for that perfect experience! We have instructors certified in Aerobics, TRX, Indoor Cycling, Zumba, Yoga, Group Strength, and much, much more!

Let one of our friendly Fitness & Sports Technicians guide you through this orientation & overview of our fitness facility and exercise equipment. You will also learn about our fitness center rules & proper gym etiquette, as well as receive Personal Trainer-authored information on strength training, cardiovascular exercise, flexibility, proper exercise intensity, nutrition and even goal setting! Body Composition Analysis

Using a simple, hand-held device, our Fitness Techs can help estimate your bodyfat percentage! Great for periodic progress checks and regular motivation! Please see the Fitness Dept. office to make an appointment. Takes less than 5 minutes! $10 each analysis for non-members. $5 each for Kroc members.

Basic Fitness Assessment & Functional Movement Screen

For those who wish to determine their fitness level more thoroughly, a Certified Personal Trainer can help determine your body composition (the percentage of lean tissue and body fat), body mass index (BMI), waist-to-hip ratio (WHR), circumference measurements, balance ability, and muscular strength & endurance, and will perform the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) - which includes seven functional tests that assess overall body mobility and musculoskeletal stability. This information can determine your current level of fitness, and can aid in developing a customized personal fitness program, while helping set realistic, yet attainable fitness goals. Personal Fitness Training (PFT)

The “Gold Standard” in getting fit! 30-60 minute, custom workouts, designed for you, and supervised by a professional Certified Trainer. Our diverse team of friendly, professional, Certified Personal Trainers (CPT’s) can create a specialized fitness program that focuses on your specific needs and long-term fitness goals - regardless of your current level of fitness - all through one-on-one and/or small-group attention. Our CPT’s are professionally trained and certified by only themost respected and accredited certifying agencies in the nation. Many have advanced academic degrees in the field, and specialize in areas such as beginner’s fitness needs, weight loss, mature adult fitness,advanced assessment techniques, body building, athletic injury rehab,Crossfit, and sports/athletic performance! “Let’s Get Started!” PFT PROGRAM

An introductory package of affordable, private, half-hour, one-on-one personal training sessions designed to start you right!Perfect for the beginner or those new to personal training!Start off the right way, and work directly with one of our Certified Personal Trainers to develop your initial personalized fitness program to meet your lifestyle needs. Includes a BasicFitness Assessment & Functional Movement Screen (FMS), a customized workout plan, and four (4), 30-minute, one-on-one, private personal training sessions to help you get motivated and learn the basics of starting a fitness routine! T.E.A.M. FITNESS

Like to exercise with friends, but not in large classes? Would you love to hire private personal trainer, but don’t have the budget?The solution is easy: Split the cost!We now offer small-group (2-4 people minimum/maximum), semi-private personal fitness training “pods” to our Kroc Center members and guests! Two, three or four members work a personal trainer leading each of you through a semi-customized or “themed” workout program! Simply split the one-hour cost among the total number of participants! You pay as you go, and have the choice of scheduling as many, or as few workouts as you wish! No long-term commitments or extended contracts required! All participants must complete pre-exercise screening paperwork (including receiving medical clearance, if indicated) and purchase a Basic Fitness Assessment Functional Movement Screen prior to participation in this program. Fitness Center Rules & Regulations (partial list)

Age Restrictions for the Fitness Center:

For safety reasons, individuals under the age of 12 are not allowed in the fitness center. Patrons between the ages of 12 and 15 may exercise in the fitness center only under the direct supervision of a parent/legal guardian or a Certified Personal Trainer. Members & guests ages 16 and over may enjoy unlimited fitness center use.

  • Participants exercise at their own risk. Consult your personal physician if you have any questions about your ability to safely and effectively participate in any activity or exercise.
  • Please use all equipment with care and consideration for the person following you.
  • Please re-rack/replace any and all free-weights, plates, equipment that you use.
  • No dropping or slamming weights.
  • No profanity or loud yelling, please.
  • Please wipe perspiration off machines after you use them.
  • No food is allowed in the fitness center. Water bottles with closable lids are permitted.
  • All members & guests are required to wear clean, close-toed athletic shoes at all times in the fitness center. Sandals, flip-flops, high-heels, and/or any type of boots, street shoes and/or dirty/muddy shoes are not appropriate for the center and could result in personal injury and/or serious damage to exercise equipment.
  • Please store all keys, purses, wallets, hats, coats, jackets, gym bags, backpacks, cell phones and all other valuables in a locker room locker. Lockers are available for day use only. Locks may be brought from home or purchased at the front desk.
  • Complete rules and regulations are posted in the Fitness Center and are available upon request.

Group–X(Fitness Classes)

We offer a broad variety of group exercise classes taught by a diverse team of Certified Fitness Instructors who educate and motivate while leading ultra-fun classes where participants feel safe, supported and inspired! Classes are generally 60 minutes in duration, unless otherwise noted. Class size may be limited due to equipment and/or space limitations, and are offered on a daily first-come, first-served basis. To prevent class disruptions,no admittance will be allowed ten minutes after a class is scheduled to begin; likewise, class participants are asked to wait until the previous class is completely finished prior to entering the classroom for their program. Current Class Offerings:

A fun, energy-filled, half-hour class with an emphasis on the abs and back. Upbeat music, a variety of equipment, and cardio work will all be used to target your torso for that lean, sleek look! 30 minutes to better abs!

AB-Ripper30-minute intense workout focusing on strengthening & stabilizing the core muscles of the abs and lower back. Learn how to work all the abdominal muscles and how to use them to brace your back… then go for that lean, ripped, six-pack look! Come ready to sweat and feel the burn! Take your abdominal training to the next level with Ab-Ripper!

Blitz is the ultimate challenge! It provides a tough, full body workout similar to a combo of the ever-popular “as seen on TV” workouts of P90X and Insanity (plus our own fun additions) into one sweat-drenched, highly challenging, “burn it to earn it” hour of pure physical intensity! Ready to get ripped with theworkout of your life? If so, Blitz is challenging YOU. Advancedclass, not recommended for beginners.

BODYSculpt

One of our most popular classes, BodySculpt is the perfect class for that busy schedule! This 40-minute, full-body, strengthening & toning class is designed to sculpt long, lean, cut muscles without adding bulk or mass. Weights, cardio & abs… all in a quick 40 minutes!

A total body workout featuring a combination of aerobics, boxing, and martial arts. Burn 500-800 calories while improving strength, aerobic fitness, flexibility, coordination, balance… and AWESOMENESS!

core power A total body workout combining techniques used in Pilates and Yoga with a great exercise flow and upbeat music. Strengthen your core, make your muscles long and lean, and enhance your balance and stability. Look good, and feel great!

GentleFUNctionalStrength

The perfect class for those just starting to work out! Improve muscular strength, toning & stamina while building a foundation of cardio endurance, basic everyday movement skills, balance and flexibility! Great for seniors! Have FUN getting FUNctional!

Glute worX

Ready for that firm, toned backside? This 45 minute class will firm, strengthen and shape your “bum” like no other!

Indoor Cycling

Group cycle training that targets cardiovascular endurance and leg strength. Follow imaginary courses as you adjust the bike’s tension level and speed. Have fun and burn 400-500 calories in a fast-paced, sweat-soaked, energizing blast! Limited to the first 17 students each session, so get there early!

introThis class is a beginners-level class for those who are new to the TRX equipment and techniques. TRX is for everyone, not just athletes! In this class, you will learn how to move with, and adjust the TRX, and how to position your body for progressive strengthening! TRX can be as easy (or as difficult) as YOU make it! Come and learn how to start slowly for the greatest results! Limited to the first 15 participants.

Low Impact Aerobics

A fitness center CLASSIC! Basic and advanced dance-style moves designed to stimulate cardiovascular endurance and burn away those unwanted calories! Perfect for working adults! Have fun in “the original” group exercise class!

PUMP!

Group strength training using dumbbells, barbells, medicine balls, stability balls, resistance tubing, steps and your own body weight. Learn proper form for your full-body, free-weight workouts while working to exhaustion and having fun in a muscle-toning, strength-building, calorie-burning, energizing and informative class!
