Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! Those 7 semester transcripts are out, testing business continues, financial aid meetings are going strong and scholarship deadlines are fast approaching. It’s no wonder counselors are the busiest people on earth! However, take time out and register for the Counselor’s Only Conference to be held on March 2, 2010. This conference is jointly held by the State Dept. of Ed. and the OK Dept. of Career Tech. Information about the conference and registration is below. Last year over 500 counselors from across the state attended. We’ll see you there! Tommi

Etranscript update – Great news! The Technology Centers are now receiving etranscripts. Over 1000 transcripts have been sent to the Technology Centers this month! This spring it will only take you a few seconds to send etranscripts to your local technology center for student enrollment. We are also asking that in May, after all Senior transcripts are sent, you send etranscripts to the technology centers for those students who are planning on attending next fall (including returning tech students.) 225+ high schools are already signed up for etranscripts and there are now 68 destination points for the transcripts (including colleges and tech centers.) If you have not yet signed up to send etranscripts, contact Sandy Decker, OSRHE, or call 580-775-3705. I have included links to the lists of senders and receivers below.

  • We found an interesting articleon CNN Money.com titled Most Lucrative College Degrees. The information is based on a recent survey from the National Association of Colleges and Employers, which tracks college graduates' job offers. The top 15 highest-earning college degrees are listed and of the 15, 12 of them are engineering. All of the top 15 require mathematics skills, but engineering is definitely the top degree field. This survey was mentioned at the FIRST Robotics kick-off.
