Title: Event Coordinator
Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Supervisor: VP of Client Services & Account Managers
Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm
Job Classification: Non-Exempt
Job Concept:
In partnership with a Five Star and Five Diamond resort property, the Colorado Springs Destination Services Corporation (DSC) office plans, coordinates, and executes over 100 programs and destination experiences annually, including tour management, activities, transportation, meeting services, dining, offsite venues, entertainment, and private corporate events from intimate dinners for 10 to full-blown events for 2,000.
The Event Coordinator will provide a variety of administrative support to a team of Account Managers, from program planning through program operation and on-site execution.
This is a fast-paced office environment and each event and program is different. Daily tasks and duties will vary, so the Event Coordinator will be flexible and have a positive attitude, a drive for success, a strong attention to detail, and be able to manage multiple shifting priorities while staying organized and proactive.
Skill Requirements:
- Minimum of (2) years of experience in office administration, customer service, or a similar field required
- A passion for Event Management and Hospitality
- Local knowledge of the region and its vendors preferred
- Strong computer (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint) and Internet research required
- Excellent social skills, project coordination experience and the ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients and vendors required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required
- Detail-oriented, highly organized and deadline driven
8. Ability to juggle a variety of tasks from multiple managers with shifting priorities required
9. Ability to work independently as well as an integral part of the DSC team
Other Job Requirements:
1. Satisfactory Motor Vehicle record and proof of valid license and insurance with reliable transportation
2. Occasional heavy lifting of more than 20 pounds
3. Computer keyboarding, and sitting for lengthy periods of time at a computer terminal
4. Excellent telephone etiquette and experience with a multi-line phone system preferred
