In ancient times people communicated only face-to-face. There was no
modern technology that could help people to hear and see each other.
But nowadays people can afford to communicate when they are far from each other. There are a lot of advantages of such communication. For example, people can connect with their relatives, friends and business partners. Besides,
a person can stop conversation at any moment if, for some reason or other,it is
unpleasant for him.

There are also disadvantages of such type of communication: for example, call billing.Itisquiteexpensive. Anothermaindisadvantageoftelephonecommunicationis that you can't see real partner's face and emotions. Or, maybe sometimes it is an advantage, too.

There are different types of telephones: a stable phone, a
mobile phone, a radio phone, a satellite phone.
But as for me, using a mobile phone is more comfortable because I can communicate with anybody staying anywhere. I can go by car or take a bus, I can walk along the street or stay at home – in any case I can speak by phone. It is very important to be able to stay in touch with people any time during daytime, because it often happens that you need to give some essential information timely. A stable telephone is not suitable to serve this purpose, because it is impossible to use it outdoors. A radio phone has a limited work range so there is a risk of miss some important call when you are outside. Satellite phone provides perfect communication anywhere but the service it too expensive for mortals so it is used only for exploration or government reconnaissance purposes. But any person, I’m sure, would like to have an opportunity of using a satellite telephone because of the connection quality.

Mobile phone is the most convenient for me as it is cheaper than some types of phone connection and it allows me to stay anywhere and be able to communicate to people who are far from me. But nevertheless there are some negative points to be marked out. For example: 1) limited access that depends on the technical capability of your cellular network operator; 2) necessity to recharge the battery after a limited period of using time; 3) access failure and etc.

Because of most of such disadvantages a mobile phone is not very convenient when you are at nature. Being in the wild forest or in the mountains suggests, for example, that, even if there is network access, after several days you won’t have connection to the outer world as you battery will be off and you won’t have an opportunity to recharge it. In such cases people take several batteries to change or, if possible, go by car as the car electricity system allows to recharge the battery. But this is true for any electrical device that works with a battery. It is needed to stress that very often in wild places the main problem is not even bad energy source for the mobile phone to work, but the access failure. If there is no network access, you won’t be able to communicate to anybody. But still it is the only variant to have telephone connection at nature at all.

Finally, one big and very positive thing should be figured out. While the other types of telephones are created and serve only for communication, a mobile phone may function also as an electronic toy or an alarm-clock, it can serve as an Internet channel and a universal source of information (currency, weather, time, measures, etc.). Nowadays people load books and movies in their mobile phones and read or watch them when they have spare time (usually in transport, having a log way).

So, mobile telephone is a polyfunctional device that completely complies with the needs of modern world - either fun or information or communication.
