PRELIMINARY ROUND AUDITIONS

17th (pm only) /18th OCTOBER – Guildhall School of Music & Drama

FINAL

12TH November 1.30- 4PM at THE WIGMORE HALL London

·  The competition is open to singers (and pianists) aged between twenty-two and thirty years of age inclusive.

·  Singers may apply for the award a maximum of three times.

·  All material must be sung from memory.

·  Competitors must provide a copy of the music for the jury.

·  Each candidate will be allowed a maximum of fifteen minutes in each round. (Preliminary panel may not hear all material)

A separate repertoire from the same sources PLUS one more own choice piece (4 in total for final) will be required for the finals, time allowed will still be 15 mins.

APPLICATIONS

Applications must be made on the attached form and returned with your entry fee, copy of birth certificate, curriculum vitae and the names and emails of two referees by 5pm on the 9th October 2015 (Referees will only be contacted if there is a specific query regarding an application or if applicant progresses to final, when both referees will be asked to supply a full reference.)

There is a non-refundable entry fee of £25.

Please note that making an application does not guarantee a preliminary audition, although we will make every effort to hear as many people as possible. We will notify people of auditions by email only.

ACCOMPANIST

Competitors may provide their own accompanist who, if between ages of 22-30, will automatically be entered for Accompanist Prize. Or make use of the official accompanist. A fee of £20 to use the official accompanist is payable. Please state on your form if you require this service. The official accompanist has limited availability so we cannot guarantee this service if you change your mind at a later date.

The jury’s decision will be final. The jury reserves the right not to make an award if it considers the standard to be unsatisfactory.
