1.  Task Title: Rail and the California Economy

Study to document, analyze, and quantify the contribution of the California rail system to the state’s economy.

2.  Describe last quarter’s tasks/deliverables:

This quarter was a working period on the case studies (Task 2) and statewide analysis (Task 3). Drafts for the two passenger case studies were completed and sent to the client. Work on the freight case studies commenced with investigation and data collection. Statewide analysis continues with model runs and economic analysis. Lastly, the team met with Cambridge Systematics for coordination related to the next State Rail Plan.

3.  Describe next quarter’s tasks/deliverables and their due dates:

In the next quarter (Q3 1516), the team will have completed all of the case study drafts, with the passenger case studies finalized. Concurrently drafts for the statewide analysis and future impacts will be generated. There is still outstanding freight research work and a site visit to Los Angeles.
