The 2018 County Championships and County Team Trials to be held at Hollywood Bowl, Cardiff Bay

  1. The tournament is sanctioned by the TBAW and the General Playing Rules and Tournament Rules of the BTBA will govern this event, together with the following rules.
  2. The tournament will be held at the Hollywood Bowl, Cardiff Bay on Sunday 20th May 2018.
  3. The tournament is open to all eligible bowlers:

Eligibility: -

3.1The bowler must be a current TBAW member in good standing.

3.2The bowler must be eligible to hold a British Passport, or have lived continuously in the UK for at least five years.

3.3The bowler must have been born within the boundaries of either Dyfed, Glamorgan or Gwent, OR

3.4The bowler must have resided within the boundaries for not less than one year at the time of registration. Serving members of H.M. Forces and their dependants shall qualify after a six month residential period.

  1. This is a scratch singles tournament with separate male and female sections. The top male and female bowlers will win a trophy and be awarded the status of County Champion.
  2. All bowlers will bowl 6 games
  3. Games will be bowled in doubles format changing lanes every 2 games.
  4. Bowlers will draw for lanes and starting line-up.
  5. Based on scratch scores, all team selection will be the top 6 males and 6 females in each section, unless disqualified from team selection.
  6. Bowlers that qualify for the team may be asked to fund their team shirt.
  7. In the event there are insufficient funds to enter any teams for the Inter-County Championships, you will be asked to help contribute towards the lineage costs.
  8. The TBAW reserves the right not to enter teams in any section unless sufficient bowler entries are paid up: Should any team have insufficient entries at the start of the first squad, then paid up bowlers in that section only will be offered a full refund and the opportunity to withdraw.
  9. Dress code: no jeans or sleeveless tops.
  10. Drinking of alcohol is not permitted while bowling. Smoking is not permitted in the centre. Mobile phones are not permitted on the lanes or bowlers’ area while bowling.
  11. Failure to produce a current TBAW membership card will incur a £2.00 charge

Squad Time:Sunday 20th May12.00pm.

Registration is 30 minutes before squad time.

  1. A provisional ball must be rolled if any dispute relating to pinfall cannot be resolved immediately. Protests must be lodged with the tournament manager within 30 minutes of an infraction occurring and confirmed in writing within 72 hours of the game in which the infraction occurred.
  2. The Tournament Manager reserves the right to reject an entry and his decision in all matters, including team selection shall be final subject to appeal to the TBAW. The Tournament Manager is Matthew Penny or such other persons nominated by the Southern Welsh Area Association.

In the event that there are insufficient entries in any section to provide a full team then SWCAA reserves the right to withdraw from the Inter-County Championships.
