OBJECTIVES:

The sponsor has developed two separate funds within its foundation

that will be managed exclusively for religious, charitable,

scientific, literary and educational purposes. They are known as

Jewett Fund A and Jewett Fund B of the George Frederick Jewett

Foundation. The primary interests of the Jewett Fund A within the

Foundation are: arts and culture, education, and the environment (with

particular emphasis on land conservation, oceanographic studies, and

population). Some consideration will also be given to health/social

services and medical research. The priority interests of Jewett Fund B

of the Foundation are: education, libraries, music, preservation,

protection of the environment, including population issues, and

scientific research.

ELIGIBILITY

The Jewett Fund A of the Foundation focuses its grants largely,

although not exclusively, to San Francisco, California, and Spokane,

Washington. The Jewett Fund B of the Foundation focuses its grants

largely in geographic areas in which trustees and family members have

knowledge of particular needs. The sponsor will accept and consider

only those formal applications which have been expressly solicited.
